i've been to this cafe many times. my wife and i particularly enjoy thefoodand we always let go of the poor service. most times we have to repeatedly ask for water, proper cutlery etc. it's surprising how they only focus onfoodand not on over all customer experience.
today we went for our breakfast and while our avocado on toast was great, we had the strangest experience when we ordered pancakes.
i asked for plain pancakes with maple syrup & cream on the side. to that the lady taking the order said you still have to pay the full price.... we said of course.. we are being specific so we don't waste other topings. we said we have order this many times for the past 3 years. she then said "and it's pancake syrup and not maple syrup". we said it's always maple syrup.. she said no its pancake syrup. we said no problem we are okay with that syrup... she repeated again "and it's pancake syrup". we just felt extremely insulted.
i said it's okay, we won't have that, you can get us our cheque. i then went to the billing counter to ask why today ordering pancakes is so difficult.... to that the gentleman said their batter went bad today and pancakes are not available. i said i am sorry and i went back to be table.
and when i turned evey table had pancakes :)
i told my wife that we must find a better place that gives a respectful experience to the customers.
it's a shame that this cafe even has an institute.
