la vue waterfront restaurant

we visit for sunday dinner with thefork’s 40% deal. on arrival, we are greeted by waitresses at the entrance. owner ronaldo welcomes us and ensures we are comfortably seated. we sip on cocktails admiring the view of the waterfront as we wait for our meal.

* pork belly ($28) is served with poached pear and sauerkraut. the pork belly is perfectly roasted, tender and juicy. we love this dish and i will have this as my main meal next visit.

* beef eye fillet ($45) is served with glazed onions, pomme puree and a bordelaise sauce. the eye fillet grilled “medium” is nicely seared and tender, a high quality steak complemented nicely with pomme puree and poached greens. this french bordelaise sauce is fantastic!

* tiger prawns thermidor ($45) looks spectacular and is served with a dressed salad and gratin dauphinoise (baked potato). these tiger prawns are very fresh and are complemented nicely with a tasty seafood sauce garnished with avocado cubes. excellent!

* mango and passionfruit bavarois ($15) and affogato & peach schnapps ($15). a beautiful refreshing dessert and an intense full flavoured liqueur coffee to complete our meal.

a lovely fine dining experience with delicious food, friendly fastserviceand serene riverfront views. a perfect evening out on the town. thank you la vue waterfront!

intend to visit this waterfront restaurant for a long time. eventually, we took the advantage of the fork festival of 50% off food bill for a dinner last night. 
the par of our expectation was set high. walked in and we were greeted by the well-trained professional wait-staff. nearly every tables are facing the nice view of the story bridge. no doubt,serviceand ambience achieve the full mark.
we ordered the de-bone quail, daily special lobster bisque for entrees and veal eye fillet and the ocean trout as the mains. entrees came to the table quicker than we expected. the aroma of rich lobster earned our appreciation and the huge portion of the stuffed quail was unexpected (i nearly thought it should be a chicken more than a quail). the grapes stuffed with the quail were interesting but i could not taste the sweetness from them. on the other hand, the braised lentils made the stuffed content slightly mushy. 
next came the mains. honestly, presentation was rustic and it is close to french country style dishes. both of the mains were average. we could not pick up the flaw but there was no surprised at all. overall, it was a slightly let down from our high expectation.

perfect place for a special date. i went on a tuesday so it was very quiet and we got to sit right at the window to get the best view of the storey bridge and its lights beautifully reflecting on the river. i had the best moscato i've ever tasted (castello del poggio moscato) and the veal was so tender, i never knew such a tenderness existed! the prawn entree was just devine and all the meals had a delightful range of components that complemented each other perfectly. theservicewas also terrific.

the riverside views of brisbane are amazing, and theserviceis fast and friendly. unfortunately i did not enjoy the food - we ordered a dish with a processed vegetable stack which tasted like baby food. the presentation was good but unfortunately the food was not. for dessert i had a crème brulee and the custard was too thick, and the pastry was very hard.

just went to an incredible restaurant in brisbane. la vue exceptional food, wine andserviceand the chef made the night for us with his wit and hands on approach. a hidden gem honestly. 9/10. must experience.

simply spectacular. i posted a review when they first opened last year. since then, i've dined several times again and organised work functions (one for 23 people) and each and every time everything has been amazing. the food, the service, the view, the wine! everything. brisbane needs to support this restaurant.. let friends know.. it seems a little out of the way but it really isn't.. the walk along the river is a great way to start the experience.. and the amazing food andservicejust ticks all the boxes. this really is a "must do".

absolutely brilliant. just opened (used to be venice café) and they've done a great job. we went for lunch there and there were five of us and had four different meals, and everyone was very impressed. really reasonable (my eye fillet was $28!!).. and you're right on the brisbane river with great views. staff were super helpful. we will definitely be returning.

thanks to la vue, our wedding reception's food,serviceand ambiance was amazing. my partner and i choose to have our wedding reception at la vue for the stunning location on the brisbane river, excellent food and the relaxed and charming intimate restaurant atmosphere. la vue accommodated 50 or so of our friends and family and made our wedding day a truly amazing experience. kenny (manager) was excellent to deal with during the lead up to our event, they were accommodating with changes to guest numbers, seating arrangements and the menu. the restaurant set up was fantastic, the cake and table decorations featured well on the day against the stunning storey bridge as a back drop. our menu was elegant and we have received so many compliments on the quality and presentation of the food. to start we chose alternate drops of duck risotto or king prawns followed by chicken and mushroom ballottine or veal fillet.

the la vue staff made the overall dining experience fantastic. the ambiance, décor andservicewere of the highest standard, all food came out promptly and our event ran very close to our desired timing. our guests have given feedback that all the servers on the day were pleasant and attentive to our guests needs. la vue's wine and beverage list was extremely comprehensive and i had no issues choosing an excellent wide variety of wines for the day which our patrons thoroughly enjoyed.

we look forward to coming back to la vue for a meal when we next visit brisbane. we couldn't fault anything for our event, everything went perfectly. we highly recommend this restaurant for weddings or events as you won't be disappointed and we thank renaldo and his team for making our wedding on easter saturday the best day of our lives.

superlativeservice- wonderful food. we visited la vue on the 23rd of january and were very impressed with the level ofservicereceived. the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. we definitely would go again.

great experience. not really familiar with the restaurant scene, we picked la vue waterfront restaurant based on previous reviews, and we weren't disappointed. fantastic food, amazing atmosphere and views of the storey bridge and theservicecould not be faulted (thanks to martin). a really enjoyable restaurant to dine at.

excellent view, excellentserviceand excellent food.. i have dined at la vue twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. the difference here is that it is actually an 'experience', something that is hard to find on the brisbane food scene. i found the food great, especially the seafood, and theservicewas attentive and professional. the highlight is the intimate view of the story bridge which gives a different vibe from the other riverside options.

wonderful night 7th nov 2014. all of our party of seven departed la vue at the end of the night singing it's praises.
theservicewas of the highest order and la vue should treasure its staff. it is rare to find such a high standard.
as for the meals: quality and presentation were without fault, and the comments around the table reflected this.
i could go on, but suffice to say, we will be returning.

great service, great food & a great view. i recently held a private function at la vue for 80 people. all 80 of those people will tell you how great theservicewas, how accommodating the staff were and the spectacular view to top it off. theservicewas on time, your glass was always full and any small request was handled professionally and promptly. the food was incredible and the wine selection was broad, something for everyone. the management staff were a pleasure to work with, i cannot thank them enough. i highly recommend this venue for any special occasion, you will surely be looked after.
