la vue waterfront restaurant

my boyfriend and i were excited to try this restaurant tonight, and called at about 5pm to make an inquiry. the calls did not go through when we called twice, and by the time we arrived it was around 8pm and the restaurant was closed although it says here that they are open until 11pm. we are very disappointed with our experience tonight.

absolutely beautiful food in a stunning setting right by the water front. ronaldo came out to say hello and the rest of the staff were so lovely and attentive. perfect for a special night out! highly recommend!

we visit for sunday dinner with thefork’s 40% deal. on arrival, we are greeted by waitresses at the entrance. owner ronaldo welcomes us and ensures we are comfortably seated. we sip on cocktails admiring the view of the waterfront as we wait for our meal.

* pork belly ($28) is served with poached pear and sauerkraut. the pork belly is perfectly roasted, tender and juicy. we love this dish and i will have this as my main meal next visit.

* beef eye fillet ($45) is served with glazed onions, pomme puree and a bordelaise sauce. the eye fillet grilled “medium” is nicely seared and tender, a high quality steak complemented nicely with pomme puree and poached greens. this french bordelaise sauce is fantastic!

* tiger prawns thermidor ($45) looks spectacular and is served with a dressed salad and gratin dauphinoise (baked potato). these tiger prawns are very fresh and are complemented nicely with a tasty seafood sauce garnished with avocado cubes. excellent!

* mango and passionfruit bavarois ($15) and affogato & peach schnapps ($15). a beautiful refreshing dessert and an intense full flavoured liqueur coffee to complete our meal.

a lovely fine dining experience with delicious food, friendly fast service and serene riverfront views. a perfect evening out on the town. thank you la vue waterfront!

intend to visit this waterfront restaurant for a long time. eventually, we took the advantage of the fork festival of 50% off food bill for a dinner last night. 
the par of our expectation was set high. walked in and we were greeted by the well-trained professional wait-staff. nearly every tables are facing the nice view of the story bridge. no doubt, service and ambience achieve the full mark.
we ordered the de-bone quail, daily special lobster bisque for entrees and veal eye fillet and the ocean trout as the mains. entrees came to the table quicker than we expected. the aroma of rich lobster earned our appreciation and the huge portion of the stuffed quail was unexpected (i nearly thought it should be a chicken more than a quail). the grapes stuffed with the quail were interesting but i could not taste the sweetness from them. on the other hand, the braised lentils made the stuffed content slightly mushy. 
next came the mains. honestly, presentation was rustic and it is close to french country style dishes. both of the mains were average. we could not pick up the flaw but there was no surprised at all. overall, it was a slightly let down from our high expectation.

a romantic restaurant that can cater for all functions , events, parties , ala carte dining and special occasions. the location of this restaurant is hidden away from the hustle & bustle of eagle pier street, where we are situated along the board walk at the opposite end next to admiralty towers and in front of the marriott hotel. we are the closest restaurant nearest to the famous story bridge with it's beautiful lights that change every week. in a beautiful setting that surrounds with natural parklands and boutique gardens - this is a unique and stylish venue that is not to be missed. the restaurants theme is bringing nature into the interior with bright happy art works from healing art design for magical ambience and positive -" chi energy " for upliftment,relaxation and tranquility. we are open 7 ( nights ) a week , monday to sunday 5.30pm to late . the food menu approaches an array of modern australian with a french and european flair.delicate sauces to captivate the palate , with starters , to follow and delicious desserts.

excellent food and best view of story bridge, friendly staff and manager, would be better if the restaurant can replace table and chairs, will come back again!

amazing service, we where met at the door and treated like royalty. the food was amongst the best i have ever had. the view was over to kangaroo point where i proposed later that night. thank you la vue for such an amazing experience.

perfect place for a special date. i went on a tuesday so it was very quiet and we got to sit right at the window to get the best view of the storey bridge and its lights beautifully reflecting on the river. i had the best moscato i've ever tasted (castello del poggio moscato) and the veal was so tender, i never knew such a tenderness existed! the prawn entree was just devine and all the meals had a delightful range of components that complemented each other perfectly. the service was also terrific.

just spoke to someone on the phone to make a booking, the person i spoke to was rude, was going to book here for 3 but now i'm not going to!!!!!!

what a disappointment my wife and i went there for a valentines day lunch and could not understand why it had received such good reviews. the view was the best part of the experience.
from the start our drinks were warm ie wine and beer. the waiter was nice enough to replace the beer and provided ice for the wine. he admitted that the fridges were not working.
my entree had two little prawns that were overcooked and chalky. my wife's entree which were scallops which were grey in colour.
her main was worse it should have been salt and pepper quail in a salad. it was a battered quail with s demi glaze with no mention of that in the menu. . the pickled cucumber tasted as if it came out of a jar. very disappointing. when the waiter came to take plates he asked what was wrong, she was not going to say anything but it seemed he needed an answer so she said the quail seemed off. during our meals the chef did the rounds and brought a finger bowl for her.
so when the waiter took the full plate back my wife heard the chef say he rotates his stock. lo and behold out comes the chef. he is standing over the table and asks what was wrong with the quail. she said it seemed off. his answer was he rotates his stock. she said it seemed that way. she said she did not complain as the waiter asked. the chef said it wasn't and wanted redemption. she stated the menu said salt & pepper but the quail came out battered and with demi glaze??!!! it seemed he wanted an argument. so off he went back to his kitchen. next the waiter came to top up our glasses of water. clearly he was shaken as he used the tap water - where we were splashing out on sparkling water. we started to laugh as it could not have gotten worse. my wife usually does not say anything but if asked will say something. i think they did not want to hear their short comings. in fact when we stood up to leave the young waitress ran to the door to help us out which was not done for any other patrons including a couple with a pram. we were not charged for our warm drinks which was little consolation for the whole experience. my wife has worked in food industry and we eat out and undertand good food including cooking it.

the restaurant is in a lovely spot & décor is very nice without being too french - however i have to be honest and say that while a number of our mains were very nice, my fish was too salty (not by much but it made a difference to the dish), all desserts very nice.  what was truly terrible were the vegetables; please charge for them and let people who love them and want to have them get something that's lovely to have!   stop with 'watery, plain and completely unforgettable, smallest serve in the world' asap!  many a would be french restaurant in brisbane have gone the same way and it's never been pretty....

the riverside views of brisbane are amazing, and the service is fast and friendly. unfortunately i did not enjoy the food - we ordered a dish with a processed vegetable stack which tasted like baby food. the presentation was good but unfortunately the food was not. for dessert i had a crème brulee and the custard was too thick, and the pastry was very hard.

just went to an incredible restaurant in brisbane. la vue exceptional food, wine and service and the chef made the night for us with his wit and hands on approach. a hidden gem honestly. 9/10. must experience.

wow! what a fun night full of delicious food from start to finish. i was meeting my family there and had some trouble finding the place. the head chef and owner came out of the restaurant to find me!! he then brought me back to his beautiful restaurant and the moment i sat down, the laughs began. he is extremely hospitable and made us all laugh the whole night. such an amazing view and the food!!! so good and so well priced. perfect for a date or family and friends. thanks for the amazing night la vue!!

simply spectacular. i posted a review when they first opened last year. since then, i've dined several times again and organised work functions (one for 23 people) and each and every time everything has been amazing. the food, the service, the view, the wine! everything. brisbane needs to support this restaurant.. let friends know.. it seems a little out of the way but it really isn't.. the walk along the river is a great way to start the experience.. and the amazing food and service just ticks all the boxes. this really is a "must do".

absolutely brilliant. just opened (used to be venice café) and they've done a great job. we went for lunch there and there were five of us and had four different meals, and everyone was very impressed. really reasonable (my eye fillet was $28!!).. and you're right on the brisbane river with great views. staff were super helpful. we will definitely be returning.
