the service was less than friendly with the hope that the food and atmosphere would make up for the service. however thecalamariwas oily. the pork belly was decent but not the greatest and the chourrizo tasted like bacon that has been left out and even a hobo wouldn't eat it so they served it , we have had better in a pora hole in jhb south, in addition to the portions were undersized which in the case was good due the the lack of quality served on the plates. the mojito taste like water with lemon juice poured in. it also was very hot with no accomodation for fans or anything to cool us while dining. on the bright side of the experience the views were very nice and the decor of the venue.

lovely vibe but the ham croquette tapas were filled with huge bits of fat. very unpleasant.
the green veg tapa plate and the salt and peppercalamariare great. time to source a new ham dealer la parada. and to end off the service was horrible. on public holidays i expect more staff for a popular restaurant but alas there were very few around.

pretty tapas spot in constantia. it's a lovely setting and we would have sat outside had it not been for the weather. the staff are friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. i do find their menu quite limited, that being said the tapas we did have were terrific. we shared the salt and peppercalamariand patatas bravas. they were good portions and more than enough for two people. but the churros truly won me over. i'm not really a fan of churros but these ones were served fresh and warm - straight from the deep-fryer. will definitely go back to have them again!

blistering hot day so we were lucky to sit under an umbrella on the terrace. music spanish and jazzy, nice vibe overall. the waiter relaxed and friendly, not rushed at all. we just kept ordering tapas from their list of delicious choices. line fish (steenbrass) and tuna absolute best choice. chorizo ok, not very spicy. grilledcalamaridelicious! craft beers on tap to cool you down. we had a lovely and long lunch. pity that zomato indicates that lunch is only from 12 to 2pm. this is not the case. kitchen is open from 12 noon to 22h00 (i asked)!

popped in to la parada after our plans went a little haywire, as it's close to home and the weather was great. pity.

venue looks good, outside tables were perfect for warm weather, despite arriving at 7:30pm, and the place was still fullish. however the food was disappointing.

we ordered salt&peppercalamari(no real seasoning on deep fried calamari, although they were tender. aioli was bland. patata bravas were roasted/oil fried, with too little tomato sauce and too much bland mayo - not traditional. beetroot cured salmon was good, pork belly was good, and the best tapas of the night went to tomato salad.

roasted tomatoes with pine puts, green beans, and vinaigrette- great antidote to the pub-like tapas. a couple of glasses of bubbly, a glass of vondeling rosé and a glass of vondeling shiraz - before we polished off the cremé catalan, which was superb.

nice to try, but not rushing back. feels like an early evening drinks spot.

situated in constantia nek la parada has such a beautiful setting and fun atmosphere. upon arrival the restaurant was busy and very full, the staff took my details and put us on the waiting list for a table. one of the downsides is that you can't book in advance, they only allow you to book for tables of 15 people or more. we waited for about 15-20min before we were seated. i had the grilledcalamariand a side salad which was very delicious and my friends had the pork belly, the fried calamari- pork belly was a hit but the friedcalamariwas apparently not that great. the service was also a tad bit slow but overall it was a pleasant and fun experience, will definitely be back!

came here for some drinks and tapas on a saturday afternoon. we had the grilled calamari, house salad and patatas bravas. patatas were excellent, butcalamariand salad terribly disappointing -calamaribland and salad was old and tasteless. absolutely incredible service from masiiwa though, and an excellent array of beers on tap! will definitely be back as this is a beautiful spot!

the relaxed atmosphere and tasty tapas make la parada such an ideal dinner spot! the constantia la parada has a nice open outside area which is perfect for the cape town summer. the tapas are quite large and great for sharing. the friedcalamariwas definitely the highlight of the meal, with the beef fillet coming in at a close second.
