great for lunch or dinner!.serviceis fast and the staff are very friendly and are helpful pairing the wines with the foods. the mussels in the tomato sauce are exceptional having just the right tang. the pizzas are made to order and the fish is cooked just to the right flakiness. i recommend giving it a try, you won't leave hungry!

our family was in destin on vacation and we were looking for an italian restaurant to eat at. we stumbled on la famiglia and decided to try it! we were not disappointed! we had the manicotti with white sauce, cannelloni, fettucine alfredo, and a special, "the nest", which was pruscutto wrapped in noodles, stuffed with cheese. everything was delicious and theservicewas excellent!

ceasar salad was excellent also chicken parm with side of fetacchini alfreado was excellent,servicewas ok, would go back

dinner. we were the very first customers when this place opened and enjoyed taking visiting family & friends there regularly; theserviceand the food were consistently good, but that was before they got popular. we continued to patronize them until about a year ago when the servers barely acknowledged us, the same ones we'd known since the beginning. then, the food started to suffer. we returned again only when out-of-town family came to visit & remembered how good the food was. it's one thing for one person to have a disappointing experience, but our whole table confirmed that items we had truly enjoyed in the past were nowhere near the quality or flavor we had before. our favorite, osso buco was a very small portion, mostly bone and very little meat and was swimming in fat. the very small lamb chops special was way overcooked, dried out and the chops were tiny altho' the plate looked large by a whoping heap of salad greens; the special fish we ordered was tasteless. that would make this the last time we visit there, especially since the prices are way out of line; after all, this is not new york where the price is worth the meal.

the bread was good. my friends in destin had recommended this spot..but not really sure why.

in the old country....my friend ordered a veal dish that was tough and had been
pre-cooked ...so glad i did not get it as the mushroom sauce was not tasty. i had
the lobster ravioli......the vodka sauce was terrible...$30.00 for a small
non-descript salad, one glass of wine and a dish i would never order again.
the bread was warm and the olive oil was well seasoned.
wish we had gone to the olive garden..unlimited salad and bread sticks and
consistent quality.

amazing restaurant! everything theserviceto the food was wonderful! ordered about six different meals and each one was better than the other. definitely recommend la famiglia.

theservicewas perfect and the food was excellent. the lunch menu is pretty large and it would be difficult not to find something you would like. the atmosphere is very warm yet casual.

went at dinner time expecting it to be busy and there was no one there. customerservicewas good and the food came out fast. (10-15 minutes we received our food) i had ordered a cheese pizza and fries. the pizza was medium crust and great for the price. $12.99 and we got what we paid for.

i would come back for the pizza.

a group of 5 of us ate dinner there on a none busy night and we found the food to be below average and theservicehorrible. we were sat at a table which was used by another family with used dishes and oil. there were two employees arguing in front of us at one point. no refills, stale bread, and poorservicemade the bland food worse.

we had the best experience at la famiglia! theservicewas impeccable and the food was outstanding. we tasted many things from drinks to bread and oil to apps to salads to entres to desserts. nothing was short of perfection but i personally recommend the strawberry-basil martini and any of the pasta dish options. francesca was a gracious hostess and we can't wait to return!

let down from other online reviews. we went to la famiglia on a sunday at the harbor location after reading so many glowing reviews on another site. we were quite let down. the salad was strangely missing any truly green lettuce and did not look fresh (see photo). in addition it was an up-charge with the entree (it being included was marked through on the menu, so at one time it was). it was definitely not worth the additional expense. another family member's caesar salad did have better dressing, but still looked more yellow than green. pastas were better than salads, but not worth the drive from the 30a area, and certainly not anything more memorable than chain italian. perhaps we caught them on a bad day. the alfredo sauce was a highlight, but overall i left wondering how people were able to write so many glowing reviews after a mediocre meal. the good news is that staff were earnest andservicewas overall good, even with a translation problem related to a dressing request.

theservicewas a 4 out of 10. the waiter visited our table twice. never offered me a drink and when i incorrectly asked for a cup of wine in lieu of a glass of wine he looked at me like i was from mars. i ordered the chicken vesuvio and it was too spicy for my personal taste. i'm from chicago and had vesuvio plenty of times but never with crushed peppers do i tried it. when i told the waiter it was too spicy for my taste he simply said that's vesuvio.... that's how it's made and how we make it. never showed any compassion for me the customer. pizza for kids? not. the pizza is about 18"in diameter. what kid eats all of that? asked for a cesar salad with my vesuvio instead of the house salad. waiter said that i would needb to but a whole salad entirely or have cesar sauce on my house salad. i'm confused by that. is it the extra effort to sort out the lettuce that they couldn't swap the salads? just seems like they didn't care about our experience. i give it a 1 star. don't recommend this place considering the other great restaurants in destin.

fabulous food (pizzas, fettuccine bolognese, manicotti), great drink specials, excellentservicewith a brilliant italian accent-everything was wonderful-and we had leftovers for the next day:)

go elsewhere. we were looking for some good italian food and thought we would give this place a try. we should have eaten elsewhere. it took us about 5 minutes to get a table when half of the restaurant was empty. we were not offered drinks, i had to ask for them 3 times. one of the dishes we ordered they were out of and the food had no taste. we have had better red sauce at domino's pizza and better pizza from a frozen totino's pizza. then at the end of the meal, we heard the waiter give the table next to us specials....wow, would have been nice to have the same option. need i say theservicesucks.. way too over priced for what you get....if you are reading this....save your money and eat elsewhere!!!

in town for vacation with the wife and 2month old. wanted some good italian so decided on this place. its alil small and nice inside so go early or wait. we got there at like 5:15 and it filled up by 6:15. the garlic olive oil with bread was great, and i had a martini that was good. wife and i split a pizza and one of the specials and they were both awesome. finished with the pistachio cheese cake and it was awesome. all in all, no complaints other than a touch pricey ($84). they accommodated us with the baby andservicewas very good. we'll go again next time.
