great for lunch or dinner!. service is fast and the staff are very friendly and are helpful pairing the wines with the foods. the mussels in the tomato sauce are exceptional having just the right tang. the pizzas are made to order and the fish is cooked just to the right flakiness. i recommend giving it a try, you won't leave hungry!

our family was in destin on vacation and we were looking for an italian restaurant to eat at. we stumbled on la famiglia and decided to try it! we were not disappointed! we had the manicotti with white sauce, cannelloni, fettucine alfredo, and a special, "the nest", which was pruscutto wrapped in noodles, stuffed with cheese. everything was delicious and the service was excellent!

very authentic. while two trips to italy hardly makes an an expert in italian food i will have to say this is the closest we've come to finding anything like the food in italy. apparently everyone in the restaurant is from italy and it shows. if you want real italian food like the italians have you won't be disappointed.

terrible dining experience. the starter salad was insultingly small. there were five of us dining and each of us were equally disappointed with our entrees. the lasagna was very similar to a can of chef boyardee ravioli. the chicken fettuccini was incredibly bland and the chicken tasted as though it was thawed from a bag and never seasoned. the margherita pizza had little to no sauce on it and was also incredibly bland. the veal was a special menu item. the sauce that the veal was served in was mostly red pepper and olive oil. it was painful to eat and impossible to finish. and the only dish at the table that was fair was te lamb which was also a special. the salad it was served over was very fresh and the lamb was not anything to brag about but was definitely not as bad as all of the other dishes. overall, this was a serious disappointment to our entire family and i personally do not understand how this place could ever get a good review from anyone if this is the normal state of the food served.

one of the best italian restaurants i have ever been to. i have eaten in italian restaurants all across the country. i would rate this in the top 3 of all the ones i have eaten in. the red sauce was outstanding. the chicken parmisian was so tender you didn't even need a knife to cut it. i also tried the fettuccine alfredo and the pizza and they were both fantastic.

harborwalk location not as good. really loved la famiglia when we first tried it. when i saw that they opened at harborwalk, we wanted to give that location a try. the food just didn't seem to measure up to what we got at the original location. it was just ok.

wow!. let me say this was fantastic!!!
first off, i want you to know that we are tired of the over-priced, poor quality restaurants in our area. we have all but given up eating out.
i found urbanspoon yesterday by chance. i have often thought we needed a rating system so that we wouldnt be wasting our time and energy at the many dives on the emerald coast.

so back to la famiglia. fantastic!! we started off with the mussels in white wine and calamari. the mussels were to die for and we all wanted to take the broth home with us just to sip on. it was a huge serving for all of us (4 adults) and well worth the price.
the calamari was a little oily but nicely battered and cooked. huge serving that we could not finish.
they also serve crusty bread with olive oil for dipping. it was very tasty. a house salad is served with home made italian dressing.
we ordered lasagna, veal parmigiano, fettuccine alfredo and chicken piccata. the first three were excellent. the chicken was a little over cooked so we sent it back without reordering (our decision) because we were already overwhelmed with a huge amount of food. our daughter and her fiance have decided that this will be where they have their rehearsal dinner. we will definitely be joining la famiglia for dinner often.
only downside is they need to remove the tv's. (no sound) if your customers want tv's they should go to hooters.

this place is awesome. simple, delicious italian by natives. and the lunch dishes are all under $7. three of us ate huge pasta dishes and had an awesome custard/berry dessert and got out for under $40.

this place is awful. overpriced for the quality. just garbage. i spent. $120 for 2 adults and 2 children which is average. however, if i am going to spend that much money, it would be nice if the dressing didn't make everyone at the table gag. don't waste you time, money or appetite.

unbelievable, authentic and inexpensive for the quality of food, great service, friendly atmosphere. all restaurants should be this passionate about the food they serve. you can tell it is this family's passion! eat there!

dinner. we were the very first customers when this place opened and enjoyed taking visiting family & friends there regularly; the service and the food were consistently good, but that was before they got popular. we continued to patronize them until about a year ago when the servers barely acknowledged us, the same ones we'd known since the beginning. then, the food started to suffer. we returned again only when out-of-town family came to visit & remembered how good the food was. it's one thing for one person to have a disappointing experience, but our whole table confirmed that items we had truly enjoyed in the past were nowhere near the quality or flavor we had before. our favorite, osso buco was a very small portion, mostly bone and very little meat and was swimming in fat. the very small lamb chops special was way overcooked, dried out and the chops were tiny altho' the plate looked large by a whoping heap of salad greens; the special fish we ordered was tasteless. that would make this the last time we visit there, especially since the prices are way out of line; after all, this is not new york where the price is worth the meal.
