thisplacehas awesome food and if u want to get away from tourist trap food places give thisplacea try.... i was skeptical and my wife made me come and i loved it!

terrible dining experience. the starter salad was insultingly small. there were five of us dining and each of us were equally disappointed with our entrees. the lasagna was very similar to a can of chef boyardee ravioli. the chicken fettuccini was incredibly bland and the chicken tasted as though it was thawed from a bag and never seasoned. the margherita pizza had little to no sauce on it and was also incredibly bland. the veal was a special menu item. the sauce that the veal was served in was mostly red pepper and olive oil. it was painful to eat and impossible to finish. and the only dish at the table that was fair was te lamb which was also a special. the salad it was served over was very fresh and the lamb was not anything to brag about but was definitely not as bad as all of the other dishes. overall, this was a serious disappointment to our entire family and i personally do not understand how thisplacecould ever get a good review from anyone if this is the normal state of the food served.

thisplaceis awesome. simple, delicious italian by natives. and the lunch dishes are all under $7. three of us ate huge pasta dishes and had an awesome custard/berry dessert and got out for under $40.

always looking for goodplaceto eat when we vacation in destin, and thisplacewas great!!! coming from louisiana, we're picky about good food. this was the best italian food i have ever had!

thisplaceis awful. overpriced for the quality. just garbage. i spent. $120 for 2 adults and 2 children which is average. however, if i am going to spend that much money, it would be nice if the dressing didn't make everyone at the table gag. don't waste you time, money or appetite.

dinner. we were the very first customers when thisplaceopened and enjoyed taking visiting family & friends there regularly; the service and the food were consistently good, but that was before they got popular. we continued to patronize them until about a year ago when the servers barely acknowledged us, the same ones we'd known since the beginning. then, the food started to suffer. we returned again only when out-of-town family came to visit & remembered how good the food was. it's one thing for one person to have a disappointing experience, but our whole table confirmed that items we had truly enjoyed in the past were nowhere near the quality or flavor we had before. our favorite, osso buco was a very small portion, mostly bone and very little meat and was swimming in fat. the very small lamb chops special was way overcooked, dried out and the chops were tiny altho' the plate looked large by a whoping heap of salad greens; the special fish we ordered was tasteless. that would make this the last time we visit there, especially since the prices are way out of line; after all, this is not new york where the price is worth the meal.

excellent!!!!!. this is the onlyplaceto eat in destin if you want the best italian food! my wife is from roma, and so are the owners, and the prices are great as well.

great food. i find a lot of overated establishments in this town. thisplaceis the real deal. great ambiance. great food. well worth a visit if you have never been!

we decided to try thisplaceas it was recommended by a friend. excellent location next to the mall.
i start out with a cesar salad, while my wife had the caprese salad, both were delicious.
the wood fired pizza was very good. i will try their pastas as they say they are made in house.
service was quick and friendly as it is family owned and operated
overall we enjoyed this place.

the service was a 4 out of 10. the waiter visited our table twice. never offered me a drink and when i incorrectly asked for a cup of wine in lieu of a glass of wine he looked at me like i was from mars. i ordered the chicken vesuvio and it was too spicy for my personal taste. i'm from chicago and had vesuvio plenty of times but never with crushed peppers do i tried it. when i told the waiter it was too spicy for my taste he simply said that's vesuvio.... that's how it's made and how we make it. never showed any compassion for me the customer. pizza for kids? not. the pizza is about 18"in diameter. what kid eats all of that? asked for a cesar salad with my vesuvio instead of the house salad. waiter said that i would needb to but a whole salad entirely or have cesar sauce on my house salad. i'm confused by that. is it the extra effort to sort out the lettuce that they couldn't swap the salads? just seems like they didn't care about our experience. i give it a 1 star. don't recommend thisplaceconsidering the other great restaurants in destin.

go elsewhere. we were looking for some good italian food and thought we would give thisplacea try. we should have eaten elsewhere. it took us about 5 minutes to get a table when half of the restaurant was empty. we were not offered drinks, i had to ask for them 3 times. one of the dishes we ordered they were out of and the food had no taste. we have had better red sauce at domino's pizza and better pizza from a frozen totino's pizza. then at the end of the meal, we heard the waiter give the table next to us specials....wow, would have been nice to have the same option. need i say the service sucks.. way too over priced for what you get....if you are reading this....save your money and eat elsewhere!!!

over priced. thisplacewas very over priced for the taste of the food...if you want good italian, you would be better off heading to clemenzas. their food is far more flavorful and isn't quite as expensive.

omg - so good. spontaneous choice. we had already tried dewey destin, mellow mushroom, and mcguires during our stay. la familgia was incredible.

slightly campy, family owned local restaurant. theplacelooks much better inside than on the outside. reasonable prices, and everything was delightful. 2 adults, 2 kids. chicken limon (sub risotto for pasta), rustica pizza (added lemon slices), kid's cheese pizza, kid's pasta with red sauce. caprese as an appetizer. bill was about $65ish for all that. honestly, that pasta might have been some of the best i have ever had.

the move did not do them good. i've eaten at la famiglia in its old location right off of hwy 98 and had an absolute wonderful romantic dinner with my boyfriend. after they moved to their new location on the harborwalk near emerald grande, we decided to check out their new digs! unfortunately, theplacethey have now is small, not many tables for inside dining, a lot for outside but with florida weather unpredictable not a smart move to bank on all the outdoor tables. it took forever to get my lambrusco, while it was merely seconds that my bf received his wine. i had to ask my waitress, a bus boy and the hostess for my drink. the pasta suffered, they use to present their meals so elegantly, now its just slapped on. i order the night's special rack of lamb with an argula mix. when we finally received our food (another 40 mins) they smothered my meal with a balsamic/honey mixture and ruined it! when i informed my waitress she immediately wanted to fix it, but didn't take the time to listen to when i was explaining that the description reads nothing of this super sweet balsamic/honey mixture. she asked if we wanted dessert, i asked if they had chocolate mousse, she said yes and ran off to get it and came back with chocolate cake with some chocolate mousse in it. $80 bucks...really not happy and i will not be giving them another chance anytime soon.

best italian in destin!. we happened upon la famiglia on the internet when looking for a goodplaceto grab a pizza while in destin. after reading all the great reviews, we decided to try it out for ourselves. we ordered the bruschetta, caprese salad and the pepperoni pizza. the bruschetta was okay, but the pizza was so fresh and probably the best we've ever had. we actually went back on our last night in destin and had it again! there are many pasta dishes on the menu that i wish i had tried, maybe next time! also, the bread dipping sauce is so addicting! we will definitely be coming back next time we are in town!
