omg!! finally.. we visited here because our favorite italian restaurant was closed. now we have a reason to drive to destin. our party of six was greeted warmly, even though we had no reservation. i doubt we'll be able to do that for much longer. the food was terrific, from the mussels and calmari appetizers to the tiramisu (it's unbelievably fresh!). the stars of the evening were the lobster rissoto and the spectactular stuffed veal chop, beautifully frenched and perfectly prepared. the pasta sampler plate was delicious with lasagna, mannicotti and gnocchi, each with its own fresh sauce. another diner had the carbonara and while a simpler dish, the care in preparation was obvious. not easy to please, he was nearly silent while he ate every bite. the lemon veal scallopini was devine, the veal like "butta". my husband, not a fan of pasta, was quite ambivilent about trying this new spot, but he was won over by the end of the evening. while busy, we never felt rushed and the staff was interested in what we thought, stopping by to check that everything was satisfactory. this is the kind of restaurant that destin needs, a place for locals and visitors to see what good, freshly prepared italian food should taste like.
