my wife and i were in downtown vancouver for the halloween walking tour. sidebar(nice to see more businesses and vg restaurants/bars on main st)
labottegawhile small, is quaint, inviting and warm. the wait staff was very pleasant and friendly. my only criticism like so many restaurants these days is usually hard chairs...just not enough cushion for the pushin. mind out of gutter please. i know restaurants don't want you tying up there table all night. but would a little padding kill ya?

anyway the food was excellent. we split the charcuterie plate(nice size), and split the caesar salad also excellent, fresh and not too much dressing. i did the wine tasting with dinner (3 delightful reds $14 if i recall) then i had a full glass of red from australia with my main course $14 as well. excellent wine slection. so i'm pushing almost $30 in drinks.
entrees: my wife had a delicious hanger steak w/ great flavor and very tender. the demi-glaze on the steak was outstanding! i had the shrimp about 6 nice large ones. cooked perfectly. and we finished off splitting the holiday pumpkin spice cake and two coffees...vg! ok she had a single bite of cake then i told her to get her own... kidding i shared. ok no i didn't, but i digress.
like high quality restrauants (and this is absolutely one of them) and particularly if you drink alcohol...why yes i do and i believe i will, with the tip per couple our meal was just over $120.00. for those of you who like to dine and eat good quality food. labottegashould definitely be on your list of places to go. i really give this restaurant 4.5 stars!

excellent dinner. what an enjoyable experience. the food starting with the gorgonzola cheesecake, which i'd highly recommend , was excellent and the service couldn't have been better. my wife enjoyed the smoked mushroom ravioli and i savored the amatriciana. i'd certainly recommend labottegaand will be back.

after walking around town looking at restaurants we pickedbottegaand what a delicious meal .
the atmosphere is welcoming as is the wait staff. we discussed business enjoyed the company and never felt hurried nor neglected.
if i am in vancouver again i will go back.

disappointing lamb. we have gone to labottegafor at least 3 years on a regular basis. it's one of our favorite places in vancouver. tonight i ordered the lamb and it was the worst lamb i've ever had out. it was very tough, under cooked, and lacked flavor. maybe it was a bad night, etc. the wine was good and my husband's chicken was good. we'll try again hoping it was a fluke.

this was my third time at labottegaand i was hugely disappointed this time. the bread was frozen in the middle after our waitress had just told us it was fresh out of the oven. my penne alla vodka tasted like noodles with cheese and almost no sauce and for $15 was a tiny portion. the fall cake trio was dry and the frosting grainy. to top it off service was slow and not attentive. would not go back.

great food!!. labottegawas excellent. the filet mignon wrapped in bacon was great! great beer and wine selection.
sevice was outstanding.
highly recommend
