beware.... it's hard to believe that as of today (may 28, 2009), thisrestaurantis #19 on urbanspoon's toprestaurantlist. are you kidding me?

i'm literally afraid to eat at kramerbooks & afterwords cafe. seriously. the few times i have eaten there the silverware (not to mention the restroom) was filthy, the nachos were disgusting, and the service was atrocious. although the desserts are good, you couldn't pay me to eat there, which is too bad because i am actually a fan of kramerbooks bookstore!

beware.

a perfect place for avid readers and foodies.. i recommend getting the fettuccine new orleans. it's really good! it's mixed with shrimp, chicken breast, pork sausage, onions, peppers, and scallions. it's $14, which isn't too bad. my friend got the misko sake salmon salad, which she enjoyed. we didn't have to wait too long for our food, and the service was pretty good.

after we finished our food, we went to take a look through their book selection. they have a great selection of books, but they don't have a big selection of magazines.

a little fyi: when you go to the bathroom, you have to ask therestaurantemployees for a token. it is used for opening the door.

interesting place, a cafe within arestaurantor arestaurantwithin a cafe, it all depends upon which door you enter. pasta dish is a must and the peach cobbler is tasty.

a perfect place for avid readers and foodies.we didn't have to wait too long for our food, and the service was pretty good.i appreciate the level of detail thisrestauranttakes. for example, the serve soda out of a bottle to ensure fresh taste. good place to catch a great dinner. the service was exceptional, as was the food. steak was beautifully cooked, ribs fell off the bone, cornbread is heavenly.

this is a weird place. it's arestaurantat the back of a book store. i visited thisrestaurantsolely on reviews and was pleasantly surprised. dinner was great and this is one of a few places that was open late on a week night. my favorite part of the meal was my manhattan made with apricot jam.

a brilliant combination: books and food. i ate fish tacos and a delicious cocktail. if only it was acceptable behaviour to lick plates in public. definitely arestaurantworth the detour. reasonably priced and the money saved, you can buy a book or two.

wow. who knew this amazing littlerestaurantwas hidden behind a books store. the food is delicious and far from your typical bookstore coffee shop fare. the appetizers, meals and dessert were all amazing. there is also a substantial bar menu. i highly recommend it.

both therestaurantand bookstore are popular at most times during the day. therestaurantgets pretty busy and the most favorable seats, outside or by the windows, fill up quickly.

only about six inches of space between tables. waitress was very prompt, considering how crowded therestaurantwas. i had the crabcake pasta, and while the pasta was delicious, the crabcake was bland. dessert was good.

novice idea. bookstore andrestauranttogether is novice to me. i had maryland quesadilla with crab meat and it was ok. i had to ask the waiter for a token to be able to use the bathroom.
