some good bbq. i had the maple bacon sirlon. ... amazing. simply could not put my fork down. the cut pieces were grilled to perfection with just a miniscule pink left showing. super sweet, super tender. i would definitely recommend the side of bake beans (i think they put some bbq pork in there ;) besides the gimmicky restaurant decor, was agreatstop in memphis.

the magical crack cookie. my friend and i went to kooky canuck for the first time for lunch before i had to head into work. the chicken fingers were really good, seasons just right that i didn't need to add any extra seasoning. everything wasgreatuntil the waitress asked if we wanted dessert. she mentions the peach cobbler which made my friend drool but i wasn't in until she said "we have thisgreatchocolate chip cookie". at that moment i was in as well... until she brought out this huge cookie covered in icecream. i thought i was dreaming but i wasn't. the first bite was like heaven in my mouth.

i only made it about half way when i couldn't take it anymore. it was amazing. sooo good.... until i realized i had to go to work. i felt like i was drunk and yes the next morning i was hung over from the cookie..... and three days later i wake up from a dream about this magical cookie. i am convinced there was something in it, maybe crack because i swear it's taking everything in me not to go back for another one. yes i'm having cookie withdrawals.

lol please note that i am reviewing this place as a vegetarian. as a burger place i expected them to have a decent veggie burger, preferably made from scratch, especially at $10, but sadly i was served a morning star patty that tasted like it had been in the freezer for a year.greatfries and service.greatbeer selection. many dead animals on the walls watching you as you eat... lol...

this place is awesomegreatservice and even better food! they have agreatmenu and they also have a surprisingly good selection of craft beer. if i'm in memphis this is where i'll be eating at hands down.

we  celebrated a friends birthday at kooky on saturday night right after the st. paddy's day parade. there were probably 50-60 people in our party so we were given the back room. anyone that knows memphis, knows saturday night downtown is typically very busy. that being said, everything thing about this birthday celebration was great. shawn and lana, the owners paid special attention to the guest and we never waited anytime for our beverage or the fabulous food. the house was packed and we still got special attention.
if you want to celebrate your birthday let kooky canuk put it together for you or just go with friends and have agreattime.

came here after a grizzlies game and loved it.greatburgers and salads, fun drinks, and friendly service (thank you, sonia!) we'd especially recommend the steak and potato soup, the memphis burger, and the sweet potato fries - definitely worth coming back for!

i tried they failed. i ordered kooky tenders strawberry jalapeño flavor..they came out dry meaning there was hardly any sauce on them. the chicken was tough as though it was over-cooked. this was a total disappointment because i love these tenders and they haven't been right for over a year. the only redeeming quality about this order was the peach cobbler which was missing something flavor wise. it just tastes different than it usually does but was just okay. this isn't what i was hoping to eat after driving from east memphis. i don't know what's going on at this restaurant. i fell in love with them in 2009 & they have now turned into the place where i would send my enemies to dine. please make a comeback in the kitchen or take strawberry jalapeño flavor off the menu.

love the food hate the service. i love the strawberry jalapeño sauce for the kooky tenders, the chicken caesar salad, the french fries and above all the selection of crown royal. what i hate is the service. i work downtown and have an awesome experience there when ordering on my lunch break eating at the bar. however whenever i go with friends the service is terrible. last night we had a table of six i asked the waitress to bring more napkins and she thumbed through the 3 napkins on the table and asked "is that not enough?" i have never been questioned about what i ask for from a restaurant. neither has a server touched something on the table after intially putting it down or picking it up. this was offensive. on a different occasion i was there with 1 other person and we ordered thegreatmaple flank steak as each of our main course. it was awful and tough. but mine came to the table first. my friend saw this & decided he wanted to cancel and order something else. apparently this prompted a visit from the manager on duty who said "you all have ordered a lot of food. i don't want to make something else and you don't want it." mind you this is the only item that was refused. that is not a conversation for the customer and the manager. if the customer orders it bring it to the table. needless to say i will only frequent them for pickups and go down the street to flying saucer where they know how to treat you regardless of the time you come in.

my first time. so my fiancée had kept saying that there was thisgreatburger place in downtown memphis. he had been there once before with his daughter & son -in law. so today i suggested we go out for a burger. first of all parking can be a challenge in downtown memphis, but lucky for us we found the perfect spot very close.
there were a few people in and plenty of open tables for a sunday afternoon. the hostess wanted to put us all the way in the back but i told her we were waiting for a friend and we would like to sit up front by the window so our friend could see us.

our server sara was very friendly and took our drink order, we wanted to try one of the local beers on the menu but was told the drink menu a little outdated , no problem we ended getting one of our favorite beers. so our friend arrives and we each order a different burger. i ordered the memphis best burger with the trimmings on the side and medium rare. my fiancée ordered the canadian burger also medium rare & our friend ordered the bacon bleu cheese burger also medium rare. we waited about 15 minutes for our food, they looked awesome but once we all cut into our three different burgers they were all over cooked not medium rare at all. but the burgers were moist & juicy and the flavors were there, so we overlooked the fact they were over cooked. oh the sunny side up egg on my memphis best burger was slightly undercooked as well.

when our server sara checked on us we told her everything tasted good but they were defiantly over cooked. she apologized but we said it was ok cause they tasted good. so when she brought our check she had taken 25% off our bill plus had charged me for a build your own burger instead of the memphis burger since it was cheaper that way. so all in all the service wasgreat& the food was great. so i would go back again.

great place,greatservice. we walked in, crowd of 17 people. they did not mix up a single order. will come again, when we are back for competition.

raw steak and horrible attitude. i was staying at the peabody and wanted a comfortable meal nearby on my last evening. i walked over to kooky canuck's expectinggreatthings after the reviews i read. the waiter wasgreatand personable, the décor was comfortable, and i found the maple steak on the menu. served in a skillet covered with green beans and served with mac n cheese, i was hopeful and hungry. after a few bites of steak, i discovered that the steak (hidden by beans) was mostly raw! raw! the waiter was apologetic and wanted to bring me something else, or take it back to the kitchen and cook it longer. i asked for the manager, who i expected would care about the quality of his kitchen and take action. instead, after i calmly and firmly told him about the dinner and showed him the meat, he said, "i'm sick of being put down by you." really? i got up, grabbed my coat, and left the restaurant! my parting comment to the manager was, "if that's your only response, i am finished! at least the waiter was willing to take care of getting me a proper meal." i am shocked at the response! horrible management, at least tonight. and i never got to try the dessert i was anticipating!
