the service here is awesome! we had the best waiter at this restaurant of our whole vacation. he was attentive, provided suggestions, andgoodconversation.

the only reason i am not giving it a perfect score is that i wasn't overly impressed with their sushi. i had the california luau roll, it needs some sort of sauce to add more flavor. pineapple, avocado, crab, and rice surprisingly weren't very flavorful.

we also tried the the steamed pork buns and pot stickers. i've had steamed pork buns before and there were just as tasty. there is just something about the bun i can't get enough of. the sauce that came with the pot stickers was yummy.

for dinner we both had the coffee-chili rubbed pork tenderloin. we cleaned our bowls! the coconut milk polenta was so creamy and delicious. taking a bit of polenta with pork and greens was the perfect bite.

the real star i think is the complimentary hawaiian bread with macadamia nut butter. this is sogoodi had to hold myself back so others could get a piece.

if you are looking for a little hawaiian asian fusion this is the place to go. we started with dumplings (which were excellent) sushi and crab cakes. i had the duck breast which was very flavourful and my wife had the steak. the steak came with roasted garlic. a verygoodmeal.

this was our third visit to kona cafe, and while the first two were both good, this one was outstanding. the polynesian resort has been updated in the last year or so, and that included some nice improvements to both the look and menu at kona cafe. the menu is more diverse than ever before. an abbreviated (but nonetheless interesting) sushi menu accompanies agoodselection of asian and polynesian inspired dishes.

we had sushi appetizers, which were excellent. the kona sushi combo plate was particularly good, with awesome tuna poke along with generous portions of both salmon sashimi and the california luau roll.

i had the premium burger, which combined delicious beef, creamy brie, and spicy fried shrimp with a black garlic aioli. these elements all worked together surprisingly well to make for a memorable burger.

the star entree we tried was an asian noodle bowl, which equated to a huge portion of pho filled with steak, asian vegetables, and a deeply flavored broth. if you enjoy pho, this is the perfect entree choice.

the desserts were likewise excellent. the lava cake has been a kona cafe signature for years and remains a great choice. we also had a tasty warm apple tart with cinnamon gelato and a macadamia bacon brittle as topping.

the atmosphere here is open and airy, with the entire restaurant flowing into the resort's large main atrium. the sun shines in from the main windows and skylights above.

highly recommended. if you are visiting magic kingdom and want agoodlunch, it is easy to take the monorail here and back without missing much park time.

tasty food; ambience outdated.

i enjoyed the menu and the food at the kona cafe in the very outdated polynesian.
our waitress told us to order one entree at lunch since portions were large. so we started with the white bean soup. it was good. not superb..not overly savory ..but good. our main meal was the ahi seared tuna. this was served on a slightly sweet roll with slaw. tuna was perfectly seared and the flavors blended nicely. the waitress was right..we left stuffed on half sandwich and half soup.
here is my main gripe with this restaurant. ..it is a disney restaurant in an upscale hotel. the whole decor was faded and dusty looking. chair cushions were stained..faded..completely outdated blah prints. this is a hawaiian themed hotel!!! im paying for the ambience..the details. . this restaurant has such agoodmenu, and great chefs and wait staff..and it could be overlooked because its stuck in 1978.

known forgoodfood, kona cafe is already a well-celebrated breakfast spot at walt disney world. what makes it even better are a few “insider” facts.

even more delicious for dinner!. dinner here is even more delicious and fresh than breakfast if that is even possible! i had the shrimp and scallops with mixed asian veggies. the shrimp were huge panko coated plump and thick and the scallops were large, plump, and seared. they were extremely tender and oozing with juices. the mixed veggies were delicious and crisp with just a hint of soy and the presentation of my dish was out of this world beautiful. if you are looking for a seriously fresh andgoodmeal in disney that is worth your $ this is the place! you will not be disappointed!

any meal of the day. i love it here. this is one of my favorite places on property. i love the tonga toast here. yes it is cheaper downstairs in captain cooks but upstairs you get it with all the fixings like strawberry compote to pour on top. i also enjoy lunch and dinner here. this has to be one of my favorite places on disney property. the creme brule is good, the noodle dishes are good, ok lets be honest i have only found one thing i do not totally love and that is the upside down cake. its just not me. its nothing wrong with the cake. i would rather be eating any of the other desserts because there are so manygoodones. also this place has real kona coffee in a press pot. get it cause you will need the energy by lunch time.

mediocre. i went with a table full of friends and the food was mediocre at best. :( the drinks were tasty and the service wasgoodbut they couldn't make up for the unseasoned food! i ordered shrimp tempura sushi which came soggy and stuffed with huge, bitter tasting mango and microscopic sized shrimp. my friend ordered wings that were okay but entirely too dry. our visit was a major disappointment, especially since we think highly of places that have disney's name on it. :/
