a sizeable group of us went to kilim as a prelude to our friday night boogie. i've been here several times and as always the food hit the spot. we started with the zucchini and carrot fritters. they were perfect pillows served on a bed of creamy hummus and a side of warm soft bread. delicious and agoodsize just to wet your appetite. no picture sorry, we devoured them so fast! on the table we had an array of dishes including the lamb iskender, spinach borek, chicken and lamb salad, chicken shish, chicken mezze and vegetable mezze. from the general silence and clean plates it's fair to say the meals were very well received. i had the spinach borek which was beautiful filo scrolls stuffed with feta and just slightly wilted spinach. it was crisp, smokey, cheesy and earthy. all with a myriad of dips and salad. the beetroot dip is my favourite. it's a perfect mixture of grainy and smooth, not too sweet and is perfectly cooling.
be warned, the meals are very generous! definitely one to sooth the soul.
service is quick and attentive and quite laid back with patrons able to refill their own water glasses.
decor and ambience is a huge plus. very atmospheric with the turkish tile work, hangings and bustling kitchen.
i would book in advance because this place is always busy!
price was very reasonable. oh and did i mention there is no corkage fee?? what more could you want?
