katzinger’s is an icon in german village. the menu and food can compete with delicatessens in any city. pickle barrels are a plus. deli sandwiches are outstanding.

downtown has a lot of sandwich options and there are more than a few good sandwiches in the picture. but this place is iconic for columbus and it’s definitely a special kind of experience.

yum! mush-reuben is a great vegetarian option when you wanna have lunch with a friend at a neutral deli. and the pickles are a great option! :)

really good, but really expensive. $18 for sandwich, chips, small drink and a kugel. they do have a nice variety of veggie sandwich options - including the one i usually get at most restaurants... the ruben with mushrooms instead of meat.

great sandwich, no complaints, except for people behind the counter, they could smile or be more cheery. act like they should somewhere else, great food though!

the owners of katzingers need to visit slyman's deli or corky and lenny's in cleveland! the amount of meat on my corned beef sandwich was pathetic. a real jewish deli like either one up in cleveland don't leave you going home hungry!

walked about 15' south from capitol square for lunch. wasn't in the market, but retail offerings looked primo, especially the giant cheese counter. i chose the 'gene's free lunch' w/ roast beef, pastrami, swiss, slaw, & russian dressing on pumpernickel. mac salad to accompany, & a cheese blintz & kugel for dessert. sandwich, salad, & blintz all wonderful. couldn't really wrap my head @ sweet noodle kugel treat, however. highly rec if craving a nosh.

old school deli. generous portions in a counter service operation. lots of regulars. very expansive and interesting menu of sandwiches, sides and desserts. superb meats and breads. worth a detour to dine here.

was not super impressed by katzingers in my visit there. i ordered the reuben and got one of each pickle they had out- one dill and one garlic. the dill pickle was good, but the garlic flavor was too overpowering in the garlic pickle. the corned beef in the reuben was excellent and was definitely the star of the show. other than that, the russian dressing was good and the swiss cheese was what you'd expect. the sauerkraut lacked any real flavor and the rye bread was pretty mundane. overall the sandwich was decent simply based on the corned beef but for a price of $10.95 with no sides i was a little disappointed.

what a delight. i would eat at katzinger's every day if i lived in the neighborhood. our out-of-town friends eventually are going to want to try another place. but until then, this is where we are taking them.

good sandwich. but for $10.50, it should be better than i can make at home for half that. really, the sandwich i got, the #29, was child-sized. i shouldn't have to spend another $3 just to get a regular-sized sandwich comparable to anywhere else.

deli. this is the best deli in ohio. they are pricey but when you consider the freshest meats, cheeses, breads and etc. i will pay top dollar. the owner is a great manager too!

i really cannot speak highly enough of our visit to katzinger’s delicatessen. the flavor and freshness of the food was outstanding, the service and employees were friendly and helpful, and the menu and market are hard to beat…anywhere. i’m pretty confident in saying that i think these guys could stand toe-to-toe with any new york city deli any day. for columbus, the prices may be a little steep, but after your first bite you won’t care.
