downtown has a lot of sandwich options and there are more than a fewgoodsandwiches in the picture. but this place is iconic for columbus and it’s definitely a special kind of experience.

was not super impressed by katzingers in my visit there. i ordered the reuben and got one of each pickle they had out- one dill and one garlic. the dill pickle was good, but the garlic flavor was too overpowering in the garlic pickle. the corned beef in the reuben was excellent and was definitely the star of the show. other than that, the russian dressing wasgoodand the swiss cheese was what you'd expect. the sauerkraut lacked any real flavor and the rye bread was pretty mundane. overall the sandwich was decent simply based on the corned beef but for a price of $10.95 with no sides i was a little disappointed.

we had the great pleasure of experiencing katzinger’s today, a famous deli at the mouth of german village in columbus. katzinger’s is legendary, and forgoodreason. i’ll try to shut up and let the photos do the talking.

i'm shocked at the number of people that compare this authentic delicatessen to jimmy john's. there is no comparison in the quality of the food and consequently no comparison in the price. katzingers makes there sandwiches with high quality meets and cheeses served on crusty homemade bread. their pastrami and corned beef are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. the size of their sandwiches is clearly explained on the menu. . . 1/4 lb for the regular and almost 1/2 lb for the large. seriously, do you really need to eat more than that? if you love and appreciategooddelicatessens, support katzingers before the jimmy john's take over the world and thin slices of heavenly corned beef and chewy homemade breads go away forever.

lovelovelove katzinger's. my favorite lunch spot in central ohio and the best damn sandwiches around. more than 70 different sandwiches to please people of all tastes. the redskin potato salad is toogoodto be true, and anytime they have the "peanut butter crumble" dessert, order it. trust me.

katzinger's has an amazing retail selection of meats, cheeses, breads and oils. i use katzinger's to cater all of my office meetings, and everyone is much fuller and happier for it.
