we had the #1 rueben and the chicken salad. we added a side of potato salad. the pickles were two barrels to help yourself. i preferred the crisp garlic, the dill was a little overpowering for me. recommend. great staff and cheerful light jazz atmosphere

i love eating at the deli.but it could use a serious deep cleaning. and a bit of upgrading. it's not like they don't charge enough for their wares.

so good!. my husband and i fell in love with german village during our honeymoon, when we stopped there for a visit to the book loft and a sandwich at katzinger's. now that we've moved to columbus it's still one of our favorite places in town. the food is great and always fresh. i also enjoy tasting all the different samples as you come in the door. the one thing we have found to make the experience more enjoyable is to order the large version of a sandwich and split it with someone; it seriously cuts down on the cost. we also like the fruit salad and the greek salad there and often share a side of one of those.

a little pricey ($10-12 for a sandwich) but that's literally the only negative i can think of about katzingers. really cool atmosphere, astounding selection of interesting choices on their menu and at their deli, warm service. pretty much everything is delicious, but the whitefish salad...wow. love it. i go at least once a month for lunch despite the price.

another obligatory columbus stop for us. if you're in the german village it seems impossible that you could pass katzinger's up. get a sandwich for the free pickle alone! i ordered the #34 neal’s let’s make a meal which has roast beef, hot brisket, vermont white cheddar, coleslaw, russian dressing grilled on jewish rye. all the things i love the most nestled into one yummy sandwich.this is the small sandwich. if you possibly have room after your sandwich, sides (which i skipped) and free pickles you can opt for a gigantic slice of cherry cheesecake. dense, sweet with a slight tang this cheesecake was satisfying enough on it's own without the sweet and rich cherry topping but it was delicious all the same.

good food...big $$. i love katzingers deli. some of the best sandwiches i'v tasted here in columbus. i recommend their matzo ball soup, and the pickled tongue sandwich. all the desserts are delicious i can't pick a favorite, but i have to say their carrot cake will hold a special place in my stomach lol. the only thing that stops me from going more often is the price, but for an occasional treat its the best!!

best deli this side of the big apple. katzinger's is our 'go to' place whenever we are traveling through columbus. just off i-70 in the german village, their sandwiches and side are as close to a new york deli as you can find in the mid west. try any sandwich with their mt. athos fire bread, a wonderfully chewy old world artisan rye. prices tend to be high, but the sandwiches are overstuffed and well worth the cost. my favorite; pastrami and swiss with all fixings on mt athos bread. to die for.......... real deli with gourmet prices. i love katzinger's and i love their food, but i don't love their prices- two small sandwiches and two sides for over 25 bucks. sadly, these prices limit my going to katzingers- i go to other places, get the same quality of food, for a lot less money.

katzinger's is worth a visit, just don't be alarmed at the sticker shock.

everyone i bring can always find something to love. like a mash up of kats deli in ny and zingerman's in ann arbor mi, it always pleases.

it has more to offer than kats, but none of the line of zingerman's (trust me even at katzinger's worst, the line is not as bad as the line and wait at zingerman's.)

i bring out of town guest here and they always leave it happy.
