terrible staff, rubin diaz ruining this pub. once hadnicestaff. i wonder if the owners are aware of this vindictive immigrants attitude to law abiding patrons. go shit in the ganges like your parents before you pal.

the first bite of their steak sandwich made me smile. it was delicious, steak char-grilled perfectly cooked medium rare just the way i like it. the combination of rocket, tomatoes , pepper jack cheese, and their own aioli recipe just wow. was well worth the price too. had the antipasto for two as well and we absolutely loved it. sweet spicy pork was cooked so well they melted in our mouth, sourdough bread had reallynicemouth watering char grilled aroma, grilled marinated prawn skewer and calamari really goes well with the chorizo and the sauce. we definitely ordered the best foods of this pub. staffs were quick to serve and friendly too! will come back to have the steak sandwich again for sure.

best steak sandwich ever. great service andniceatmosphere too. getsniceand busy in the restaurant. meals were served quickly and more importantly they were hot when they arrived at the table.

i ordered the fish of the day which was a grilled barramundi with potato gratin and a salad. the fished was cooked well with the flesh flaking apart easily and the skin was crispy. salad wasnicetoo. partner had the steak sandwich which in their menu they claim to have won an award for. it was anicesandwich but not remarkable.

while visiting jersey jacks i saw the sign 'best steak sandwich' across the road on a building. looking for anicelunch on this sunny day so shot down for a look. fantastic location! the view varies from glimpses of the city to to full river. the open bifold windows made it a delight on a warm day (31deg). steak sandwich $25 and it was large! it had great flavour and would be more than enough for any hungry human. the portion size of chips was just enough too. will be back but will squeeze in a dessert next time

the old karalee pub! i remember my ex used to try out the role of bar fly here. it seems like aniceenough suburban haunt that served a good scotch fillet..

i met here as part of a group of 6 people. we got a crappy table in the corner and the rest of the restaurant was empty so it was confusing. sure enough though - the place was absolutely packed by the time we left so they were obviously all reserved. this place was okay. the service was veeeery average. we were seated at our table for a good 15 minutes before anyone bought us water. also, it was dead quiet when we got there so i don't see why they couldn't have taken our orders... but you have to order at the bar. some of the meals were so big that you could easily have gone halves with someone. the steak sandwich won some 'best steak sandwich of 2014' award. it did look pretty impressive and my nanna seemed to enjoy it (and she took the other half home in a take away container provided by the restaurant). we all ordered at the same time but our meals came out sporadically. most people were halfway through theirs by the time mine arrived. this always annoys me... anyway, i got the calamari and it wasniceand tender. the chips were fresh and hot. the coleslaw was not veryniceat all. the sauce was really runny and it was kind of bland. there was a bit of greenery under a lemon wedge but there should have been twice as much given that the rest of the meal was deep fried! the serving of fish and chips was huge (enough for two). the portion sizes are generous and the food is pleasant enough. the view from the other tables was nice. parking is easy to get as it is part of a shopping centre (kind of). i would go back here if i was closeby or there was an event or something but i wouldn't go out of my way to come back. it's nothing special - just your typical pub meal.

amazing steak sandwich see why it won the best of 2014. also they have regular specials on pints and to top it off great service andniceatmosphere.

we stopped in for the first time for lunch on a sunday and i ordered the lamb & rosemary burger and my partner ordered the steak sandwich.  both meals were served on a wooden board with the crispy beer battered chips in wire baskets. the burger was really yummy and you could taste the rosemary throughout. along with the cooked onion the burger also had beetroot, melted swiss cheese and delicious mint taztiki.  the steak sandwich is massive and the small bit of steak i tried wasniceand tender.  reallynicesetting with the huge windows and views.  also large screens for the sports fans. we will be back.

cool lunch. anicevenue on a hot day - lovely view and air conditioned. not bad wine list, but food was just ok. pretty dated menu - balsamic glaze was not even good in the 90's.quality of fish could have been better.

relaxing. a pleasant place for lunch on a sunny winter's day - good views and full of light. food was fine - rissotto good, although quite rich. good selection of wine and service was efficient.niceplace for a leisurely lunch.

went to the karalee mid week and it was very busy - always a good sign. the food was tasty, great portion size and the service very also good. not sure what other people feel about the ensue but our group of 14 loved it and will be back soon. if any are wondering if it is worth visiting i would say its one if the best local pubs / restaurants around.

wow ..the smokers & drinkers are gone !!!. well done to the karalee !!!!
i visited last friday night & was pleasantly surprised to find that the smokers & drinkers at the front were gone !
it appears the karalee has listened to the majority of people & created a purpose built smoking & drinking area.
what a great difference it makes & a win / win for everybody.
it great inside with the view, food & feel & now the outside matches it.....

great view, food & feel. i recently visited the karalee & was very impressed with the total experience. busy on friday night when i went - music was playing (though i believe they are stopping this for a while now),
ordered the garlic prawns (an 8/10 -niceflavour & good number of prawns) & a sirloin steak - rare.
meat was cooked to be liking & tender. kids enjoyed their meals which included an ice cream & soft drink for about $10.

service was very good & the atmposhere was pleasant. will be back again !

good pub grub!. always had good food here pretty reasonable price and is reallynicewhen all the windows are open!!

disgraceful. when we got there for a dinner on a friday night. most people would be going out for something to eat or do. the only people where locals outside chain smoking packets. no table service have to got to the counter to order in a restaurant/pub.....appalling. decided to get the bruchetta as the starter... it was rocket and capsicum..... maybe the chef was from a really different country or something. got the steak for the mains and asked for it medium it came out well done and burnt to the crisp and you know when you burn sausages by accident and can taste that burnt taste that was this steak. the mushroom sauce was pretty much just mushrooms with no sauce.

this place could actually have some potential if they changed the attitude of staff and chefs. i would give it a 1/10 for thenicesummer breeze coming through with the windows open. the rest was disgraceful

good food, once it arrived. i've been to the karalee several times for drinks and it's aniceenvironment with decent prices.
a few of us went there the other night for drinks which lead into dinner. it was a friday night and quite busy so we were happy to have a couple of rounds while waiting for food. after about 45 mins though we wandered over to see how much longer the meals were going to be, and it seems that somehow our food had disappeared into the ether.
the food manager asked if we could wait at the table while they took a look - the main manager was over a couple of minutes later and he apologised for what had happened and comp'd us a round of drinks which made it ok (seeing as we weren't in any rush). he also had our entrees out in the next couple of minutes, and the mains cooking straight away.
so a bit disappointing that the first order disappeared, however they handled it well once it was brought to their attention and the meals were good when they arrived.

not again i am sure the kitchen hands that prepared our meals did the best they can, but the place is in need of a chef!! rib eye that was not much thicker than minute steak, chewy like gravy beef. my wife had salt and pepper squid which the squid was nice, yet it was cold when she got it, bonus ofnicehot chips but. friends had chicken parma which was very large but size did not mean quality. garlic prawns were ok but lacking in garlic. i will go to watch the entertainer and drink the drinks again but if i am hungry when i'm there i will go to the subway over the road.
