we ordered two sirloin steaks for $42 each (!!) expecting them to be high quality….. they came out really quickly and both were shocking. not cooked throughout, filled with fatty grisly bits, and completely raw in several parts (we ordered medium). would not accept this quality at a $15 steak night let alone the $42 price tag. very disappointing. we complained on the night but they didn’t do anything and just said they’d “let the chef know”.

on the plus side the staff were friendly and efficient and the sunset view was great. just don’t order the steak!!!

daily specials. the daily specials at the karalee are now great. . i've had the american ribs and the moreton bay bugs recently and they were excellent. i have heard they have a new chef who has been there a few months and is obviously making a difference here. worth a visit i reckon.

king prawns garluc sauce. my daughter and i had the garlic king prawns with rice as it was gluten-free. it was horrible it tasted like prawns dumped in white sauce and the rice was swimming in the sauce as well. very bland wont be ordering that again :(

had lunch here with 6 people, generally the waitstaff were polite and attentive. the floor manager however was rude and almost aggressive when we sent back a meal as it was the wrong one. he immediately stormed over and argued with us that that was what we ordered and needed to give him more money for what we actually wanted. definitely put a dampener on the lunch. overall couldn't complain about the food, pity all these refurbished pubs think they can charge restaurant prices though while serving pub food.

lovely steak sandwiches, amazing service.. my boyfriend and i really enjoyed our steak sandwiches. really great coffee. the ginger beer is alcoholic just a warning for pregnant and breastfeeding mummas. over all we had a great time and enjoyed the food and service, so much so that we are planning to return with our families. :)

terrible staff, rubin diaz ruining this pub. once had nice staff. i wonder if the owners are aware of this vindictive immigrants attitude to law abiding patrons. go shit in the ganges like your parents before you pal.

terrible service and food. the manager rubin, is living in a cloud of fear and anger. served us with the wrong meal then proceeded to blame our table. guy seems very unhinged from covid mandates. imagine if the most you can amount to in life is running a pub. must have really proud parents. avoid this establishment at all costs.

pub manager enjoys breaking ch rules and regulations. promised to email the laws backing up his statement he made to my face but never did. what did he do instead? stalked my identity online and contact my ex employers for the set purpose of undermining my employment with false and misleading misinformation.
absolutely pathetic man with no honor or self respect. maybe acceptable in your home country of india, but this isn't how its done in australia.

loved it, saw on tv voted the best steak sandwich.., came down and wow for sure simply the best... footy, beer and the best steak sandwich in town... loved it...

athomas. booked for 20 people on mothers day. was a bit worried that service would be slow . the night was fantastic. lovely food, great service, can not complain about anything. the manager was very attentive and organised, hence the night went off without a hitch. highly recommend. the good was excellent. will keep going back.

service is crap!. waitress is sucidal, blonde barmaid highly insulted me and food took an hour to come out and was very average!! good for drinks but way over priced for standard of food.

catch 22?. reading all the reviews on here, and in comparison to our own experience i think its safe to say the food can be a bit of a hit and miss (especially the steak sandwiches). having said that though, food portions are huge! so if you're a student on a budget, there is plenty to share on a plate :)

woah i'm shocked by the percentage of voters who like this place. firstly i'm a local of como and i cringe everytime at the red-faced, chain smoking locals who clog up the walkway at preston street shops. secondly, based on the poorly prepared steaks my partner and i had, we won't be returning.

excellent service, the young girls are polite and very willing to assist. food is good, no complaints. only grumble, the decor is dated and the pub takes little advantage of the views.
