my favoriterestaurantliving in providence. every single item i have ever tried has been beautiful. anytime i visit the city, this is a number one priority!! no gluten? no problem. they have chickpea flat bread, pakora, and papadum- to name a few. i am in love with their idli sambaar but can rarely order this appetizer and still have space for their out of this world vegetable curry dishes. the location is perfect if you are visiting the area too. a kitchen by a jwu alum is always another good reason too see what they're cooking up in my book as well. my memories of providence would not be the same without this place. so go!

a few weekends ago, we enjoyed a hearty dinner at kabob & curry in providence. located on thayer st. next to nice slice, this cozy indianrestaurantoffers freshly prepared dishes at welcoming prices. on sundays, you can enjoy their brunch buffet for less than $11 (never-ending naan bread, tandoori chicken and rice pudding highlight this feast). this night however, we ordered from their dinner menu and anxiously awaited a spread of simmered lamb, vegetable samosa and delicious mango indian milkshakes. the dining room can easily be described as confined, cozy, and even cramped. we didn’t mind. in all honesty, it added to the ambiance. if close quarters is not your thing, simply head upstairs to the main dining room. there is plenty of space up top. ok, the service was, well, sub par. the waiter seemed bored, unenthused and at times non-existent. fortunately, we hear the staff is known to be very friendly and eager to please. mango lassi ($3) one of the highlights of the night, seriously

average place. i know there are lot of loyal fans but this review is more constructive. the food actually lacked the authenticity. the chicken biryani which was served was more a kashmiri pulao i did check with the waiters and they mentioned this is how they cook in india. when the waiters and chef dont even know the difference between biryani and pulao its hard to provide any positive ratings. i would even forgive the oblivious/ arrogant comments by waiters but the seats we were given were on 2nd floor next to waiter/ kitchen are which was noisy and waiters just standing there and staring at us . i would definitely not go back to thisrestaurantbut rather find some good restaurants around ri

best indian in providence. kabob n curry is by far my favorite indianrestaurantin providence. while living in orlando, fl for four years, every time i was in town i wanted kabob n curry! lots of tasty dishes and very friendly wait staff. my favorites are the keema mattar, tikka masala, vindaloo and korma. unbelievably rich and flavorful.

it doesn't get better than this. arguably the best indian food in new england. the service is great, but more important, the food is always exceptional. it's indian food, so yes, you can smell curry when you walk by on thayer street. but don't let that fool you, there are items on the menu that will please almost any palate-- even those who say they hate curry. i'm personally responsible for a half-dozen converts. the only shortcoming is the physical location. you couldn't consider thisrestauranthandicap accessible by any stretch of the imagination. however, they have a sisterrestaurantcalled rasoi located in the blackstone place mall on east avenue in pawtucket with no such physical limitations.
