fond memories every time i go to poppy's!
the big bad burger (poppy's 'works' burger) always takes me back to about 1981 ... sitting at a galaxian arcade machine at the local take away shop enjoying a *real* burger! always amazing.

classic burgers. just poppy's is your classic go-to-joint for an all round classic aussie burger. no frills, just simple but great. if you go comparing it to your grilled's, burger urges etc, you've missed the mark. so well priced and its the only place that has survived in that derelict shopping center! obviously goes to show people go there just for the burgers. yum

hit and miss. we're locals that hit up poppy's on the regular. the burgers are good but sadly there's no consistency. we'd recommend you go during the day if you can, nights can be absolute chaos which means the food quality gets sloppy.
they really need to open up another store or get a bigger store with more staff, the community would no doubt support it no matter what.

why the fuss?. have seen so many great reviews not only on urbanspoon but also facebook etc. so had to try it out as i'm having a bit of a burger hunger lately. store is located in a dark, dodgy half empty shopping centre. if it weren't for the police car there i wouldn't feel too comfortable to hang around and eat. tables and chairs were old like ones found on a kerbside pick up.

now on to the burgers, they were ok. nothing really special i wouldn't find at any take-away/fish n chip shop. decent in size though, we were very full by the end as we coupled them with the cheesy fries and beer battered chips. the chips were great!

seen comments on how great the menu is because of the choice. i felt there is way too many to choose from. didn't know what to do... so asked for the most popular.

lovely burgers! they're absolutely delicious although customer service was awful, the lady who served us was awfully rude, ruined the experience of the great burger

good b+ grade burgers. burger was decent for the price but it is my no means the best burger shop. i did not care for the bread texture and the meat quality was b grade. they have a nice list of interesting recipes for a good price. i definitely rank miel premium home made burgers as my top burger joint in brisbane.

awesome burgers and great customer service. burger was huge, very tasty and with fresh ingredients. chips and gravy was the best i have had in ages. chairs and tables could be upgraded. best burger i have had in years, all takeaway shops, pubs and clubs should take notes from this place!

its okay. first thing i should say is, stay away from those cheesy weezy fries, they're f'n nasty. second, the burgers are great, flavoursome and huge. not worth the 45minute drive though...

go for the burgers, if you want atmosphere or the decor go somewhere else. the big bad burger was awesome and the beer battered fries were tasty aswell. more attention needs to be given to wiping down the tables outside by the staff. will definitely be back though for the food.

overrated. not sure what the big deal is? we drove half hour to this place and were disappointed. burgers were big but patties lacked flavour, buns were like the ones you get from coles. however beer battered fries were great as were the cheesy wheezy fries. furniture was so grotty we almost ate in our car. won't be returning sorry!

fab food. location is not exciting, but not there for scenery. the shop is modern, staff done to earth an really show passion for their work. directly opposite a bakery, whom presumably make those custom sized rolls fresh every day for them? great for both parties. eleven in morning an heaps of people, all age groups out there enjoying what really is the best burgers about.keep up the good attitude an good cooking guys.!!!

wow an wow again. remember back when burgers where burgers, well this is a time walk back then, but with a modern upmarket twist. go hungry or be ready to do the doggy bag procedure. worth the drive an buck's. great job to the friendly professional owners, guys your on a winner, franchises here we come.don't become tall poppies please, you are great!!!!
