wow! i can't believe it has taken me so long to try julius. firstly it is a gorgeous, bustling, trendy restaurant. we were lucky to get a seat inside on a busy sunday lunch without a booking.
we were served a generous serve of complimentary bread which was divine, i could seriously just eat that warm sourdough all day long. but i am glad i left room for the pasta.... or more accurately, good thing i ran out of bread to eat. i had a bowl of duck pappardelle, bold simple round flavours, not very pretty on the plate, and may have done well to have some kind of contract.. even a sprinkling of continental parsley, but still - wow! the pasta was (of course) made in house and it was cooked exactly to my liking. b had the seafood linguine and all the pieces of seafood were cooked to their various states of perfection and his sauce was delicate, delicious, but so much more subtle after having mine. i wouldn't hesitate to order either dish again. and don't forget the bread!
