julius pizzeria

perfect service, good food.. we went here a couple of weeks ago on a friday night - two of us - sat at the bar for about 30 minutes - great atmosphere. got our table and food really quickly. great service. food was good. to compare, we had exactly what we usually have at il posto at paddington. while the food at julius is good, i reckon il posto is a bit better. but theserviceand atmosphere at julius is great. so much better than beccofino. we'd definitely go back to julius.

good italian food and love the location. pizza is great but the pasta and risotto is done really well so i like to explore the menu.serviceand wait times are roughly about normal. if it's your first time, try the calamari.

amazing every time. my partner and i have been to julius several times and we never leave disappointed. theserviceis the first thing i want to mention. i've been to many restaurants before with 10/10 food but 5/10serviceand it completely ruins the experience. eating out is more than just how the food tastes and julius totally gets that. no matter how busy it is theservicelevel never slips. now the food, oh the food. can't fault anything i've ever tired. the duck ragu is always a winner as is every pizza on the menu. the insalata romana is the best i've ever had. make sure you go before the autumn menu is changed. it's a very short walk from the south brisbane station so it's handy to get to if you want to have a few drinks.

absolutely awful. very very ordinary pizza - there is nothing new or interesting in the pizza menu at all. you can get these pizzas anywhere. risotto was watery mush not at all like a true italian risotto. worse still the owner allows rude obnoxious patrons to infringe on other diners' experience. even allowing a loud rude swearing table to continue despite the presence of small children at the next table. definitely not a family restaurant as a true italian would be.servicevery poor and slow.

very great pizza :) a popular place, though a long wait time for a table. the dessert pizzas also tasted really good. theservicewas friendly.

date night done well 😊 writing this review after my second time being here - second time being just as good as the first! this time, the bf and i ordered two pizzas to share. we chose their ever so popular (and with good reason) tartufo pizza, as well as the gamberi piccanti pizza. both were delicious in their own ways, though my favourite was definitely the tartufo pizza!servicewas super friendly and very prompt - overall, just another stellar night at julius pizzeria 😊

the absolute best pizza i have had in brisbane!!! theservicewas 10/10. the aperol spritz was made perfectly and had an olive inside. i definitely recommend this restaurant in southbank.

i’ve wanted to go to julius since it opened and finally got there on the weekend! we knew how busy it gets so booked our table for 545pm. luckily we did because it was so busy - which is awesome! the food was amazing! we got the valentines entree special, pizza, squid ink pasta and the dumplings for dessert. couldn’t fault the food!

we had heard amazing things about theservicebut were so disappointed. our waiter clearly didn’t want to be there and was extremely rude. another waiter kept walking past our table (the walk way is narrow) but kept hitting my husbands should with his elbow. he didn’t apologize and we thought it must had been a mistake the first time. it happened 6 times across the course of the night and not one apology. my husband is totally chilled so we didn’t say anything but it was clear this man was doing it on purpose - so weird!

we’d go back for the food of course but it really put a dampener on our night out!

fell in love. thought the tartufo pizza was pretty good like everyone says but the stars have gotta be the calamari and the duck ragu pasta!! order the calamari in the large serving, you won’t be disappointed!servicewas also nothing short of excellent - the staff were so friendly and attentive, and food came out altogether within 20mins! couldn’t fault my experience today.

💬 review: even though it was a thursday night, there was a long queue. thankfully, i made a booking for an early dinner.servicewas really friendly, attentive and thoughtful - they split the pasta portions for us when we said we were sharing, which is not common in melbourne!

what was even more impressive though was our italian spread. the lamb shoulder was so tender and exploding in flavour - i couldn’t get enough (and this is coming from some who generally dislikes the smell of lamb). the wood fired tartufo pizza had strong hints of truffle. they could have used a stronger cheese for the pizza but perhaps it may have overpowered the bacon truffle combo. all in all, an excellent italian meal and i would come back tomorrow and tomorrow....

ordered the calamari, the marinara deluxe pizza, and the pappadelle duck pasta... all of it was amazing! to top it offservicewas friendly, professional... couldn't have asked for a better dining experience!

really outstanding food, great wine list and nice, busy vibe. reasonable prices for the quality as well but theservicecould be a little bit friendlier and less snobbish. they also don’t take bookings so be prepared to wait up to an hour during busy times (and there won’t necessarily be seats at the bar)!

very crowded with tables much too close together. however it was a friday night so maybe more busy than usual. food was quite good, we had marinara and siciliano.servicewas so so. all in all it was a medium experience.

this place is like patting a kitten, but better. with pizza. so put down that dominos swill and treat yourself to some woodfired perfection. i can’t go past the tartufo with its magic combo of mozzarella, shroom, bacon & truffle paste coating that gorgeous thin base...[tummy rumbling as i type].

but this is no one trick pony, oh no no no - there’s a fully rounded italian menu of antipasto, entrees, pastas, mains & dessert as well. special shout outs to the duck ragu pappardelle, kingfish carpaccio, zucchini flowers (w truffled honey mmmm) & ricotta dumplings. thank me later.

in true 5/5 form,serviceis exceptional & i love how the oh-so-vibrant italian accents echo off the warehouse-style exposed brick archways.

bff wanted to take home the beautiful olive oil & truffled honey...as well as most of the staff. when sleep inevitably fails me at 3am, my mind creeps back to the pure joy that is julius.

arrive at about 5pm on a saturday night the place is already packed but didnt have to wait long for a table for two. do recommend get there or book early especialy if you have a large group.serviceand food are excellent. tried the duck pasta and tartufo pizza. the pizzas here are much better than some of the authentic italian pizza in melbourne. pasta is good protion and creamy sauce. the pinacotta is nice and wobbley and crunchy with the caramel sesame. will come back to try other dishes on the menu.
