spicy forspicysake
i had high hopes for this restaurant. sadly, they were not met. the order taking process is quite slow - only one register for dine-in. they should have several more available during peak periods. once you've stood in line for 30+ minutes you then have to wait for a table for another 20-30 minutes. open seating works in many scenarios; this location is too small for open seating to be viable - especially since the food takes so long to get to the table. waiting does give you the opportunity to observe the two managers leaning on the expo line chatting while the food sits in the window getting cold (see:mac and cheese, below). they finally mobilized to help deliver some of the food but not before dispatching two of the most undertrained, lackluster young girls to half-bus the tables.
finally, you get a seat only to wait again for your food to arrive. overall, the food was mediocre. the mac and cheese could have been velveeta and arrived quite cold. when i asked for another, the replacement was barely warm. the red-skinned potatoes in the salad were slightly undercooked and, while the chicken was cooked well, the sauces seemedspicywithout flavor.spicyfor the sake of being spicy.
assuming they open all of the concepts they have planned on their website i hope they work out some of the kinks along the way, otherwise, i fear this concept won't have a happy ending.
