joella’s hot chicken

great hot chicken and great parm fries, but the ruin thegoodparm fries by serving them cold. if you ask politely or insistently for hot fries they give them to you cold. they don’t get it, that the french fries are bad cold.

i really like this place, almost love it.  it's a pretty fair value for the price, it doesn't look like much, but i always leave stuffed.  justgoodcomfort food.

visited here recently for a sunday lunch with a friend and around 1 pm the place was packed. the line moved fast though but there's very limited seating inside on a hot day. service was friendly and food arrived fast to our table. i ordered my chicken hot and it was! the only bad part about having the chicken immersed in sauce is that the crust gets soggy. but the taste was still good. i thought the sides were asgoodas the chicken though.

great flavored chicken with varying spice/heat levels. sure, they probably aren't the best at hot chicken, but they dogoodat it. glad they brought the flavor of nashville hot chicken around here.

hot chicken is very delicious and spicy. ella's fav was plenty of heat for me. tweener was a lil on the hot side for my taste but flavorful all the same. waffles weregoodbut not as fresh as i'd liked. kale salad and slaw were great to help cut the heat. jojo's sauce is sweet and tangy. mac n cheese also good. can't wait until one closer to home opens!!!!

i can't understand anyone giving this place a bad review! yeah, it takes a while to get your food, but that's because it's made fresh. i will happily wait a little longer knowing that my food hasn't been sitting around for 30 minutes before i ordered it. their chicken has suchgoodflavor, is perfectly spicy, and their sides are great too! i eat there at least once a week because i crave their chicken. be patient with the service and you'll love this place.

i loved joella's!! i had the 3 piece tenders (spice level ella's fave), mac and cheese, red skin potato salad, ranch and jojo sauce, and a black cherry boylan soda.

the place is super cute and homey and country looking. you order at the counter like fast food and they bring out your food to your table. no servers, no real tipping. drinks are boylan sodas and at a self serve fountain and they are great. i loved the black cherry. the workers there are friendly, efficient, and do a great job.

the food came out pretty quick and it looked great. the ella's fave heat level was perfect. it was spicy but doable and agoodfirst choice i thought. the mac and cheese was incredible and the potato salad really good. i liked the potato salad a lot but could honestly get 2 orders of mac and cheese; it was that good. the chicken pieces weregoodsized and fried golden brown and tossed in the chili oil of your choice in heat. i ordered 2 sauces, ranch and jojo. the ranch seemed homemade and was great and the jojo's wasgoodand a mustardy carolina gold type of sauce. i couldn't finish because it was agoodamount of food. it was quick and relatively inexpensive for the food quality. great place. i'll definitely be back real soon.

this was the second time we have been here and it was even better than the first! we both had the tenders meal with "ella's favorite" spice level - not too hot, agoodmild hot. the tenders are delicious and the house made ranch i had with it...i was eating the fries i had at the end just to eat the ranch, it's that good! their mac and cheese might just be my favorite...it's a must if you go here. they make all their own sodas, the black cherry and cream are very good. i've also had the green beans and the parmesan fries, both good.

our food maybe took all of 3 minutes to come out, and the rest of the restaurant got theirs in the same amount of time and it was pretty busy. a must try if you like chicken! i will definitely be trying the chicken and waffles next time, they looked verygoodas well!

hot chicken has finally caught fire in louisville in the name of joella's hot chicken. i've heard all about hattie b's in nashville and i've heard about people wrapped around hot chicken takeover in columbus. honestly, i haven't been to either one. after having joella's hot chicken i doubt i'll need to go. wow! says it all. when the chicken is sogoodyou honestly can't compare it to anything you've ever had i think it's worth writing a review. ✔️🔥🐓
... and my goodness how do they make the kale salad?!? i've never complimented kale. it's sogoodthough. is it healthy? i have no idea. i suspect it's not but it's kale so maybe it is??? go there. seriously.

the chicken was really good. i got the hotter which is their hottest of four levels. afterwards i read they have an inferno level also. if you like spicy, i wouldn't hesitate to get that. their hotter should be manageable by anyone that likes spicy. reallygoodflavor. moist and flavorful. they have reallygoodand somewhat different sides. the potato salad and black eyed pea salad were both very good. only one pickle chip came with the quarter chicken so i'd recommend extra. there are some kinks that need to be worked out. it took a little while to get our food, had to wait on silverware to wash, they were out of ice in the machine, and they were out of two sides. they came to our table and gave us all a free meal to compensate.goodfood and very reasonably priced. i'd recommend it.
