if one were to ask me what my favorite restaurants were i would have to place indochine within the top ten. if that question was narrowed towilmingtonthen indochine would be in the top five.

favorite! i'd like to live here. we just live too far away. whenever there is an excuse to eat inwilmingtonthe indochine is our first choice. we have been repeat customers for four years. we each have our menu favorites and they are different. we have never had a bad meal, nor even a bad dish within the meal. the wait staff has always evidenced knowledge of the food they serve and has given excellent advice, and attentive service without being intrusive. indochine had been on our "want to try" list for some time but that part of market street wasn't in our travel pattern. our son, a certified executive chef who no longer works in the food industry, took us there for a birthday celebration. we have been going back ever since. as seniors, we find that a soup and shared appetizer is a perfect lunch.

great food. if you live in thewilmingtonarea, indochine is a must. all entrees come out in heaping portions so you can share or have it for lunch the next day. my personal favorite is the cashew chicken.

i want to love indochine. we've lived inwilmingtonfor nine years, and have eaten at indochine a number of times. the decor is amazing, the staff are nice, the menu is enormous and lavish, the drinks come in fun glasses...and the food is barely mediocre. the curries are heavy and huge and the vegetables rarely seem fresh. the tofu is terrible. most things that are fried in oil seem a little bit rancid. i don't eat the beef or the shellfish, and i know people love to come here and gorge on that, but i do know three people (three different occasions) who believe they have gotten sick from the fish here. i've been to a lot of good asian restaurants, particularly in new york and boston, and i really wishwilmingtoncould borrow some ideas. for one: portion size. i guess people do get excited about heaping piles of food, but i'd rather have some manageable, tasty, thoughtfully put together food, and more food that's fresh. their dumplings were particularly awful the last time i went: soggy, with something mysterious and stringy inside. i know that the parking lot will always be packed, and it is a fun place to go. i just wish i wasn't so consistently disappointed by the food.

winner of best ofwilmingtonfor multiple categories.. there's a reason this has been such a successful restaurant for so many years, even with many other thai places popping up serving up "competition" indochine will always be the best.

sit outside if the weather is nice, it's like being transported to far away lands.

red curry duck is one of the best dishes i've ever had. thai beef salad and yum yum chicken are other favorites.

if you don't get the coconut cake for dessert you are doing yourself a great disservice. indochine's appetizer and dinners are like dan aykroyd and harold ramis in ghostbusters, and the coconut cake is bill murray. ghostbusters just wouldn't be the same without bill murray, same as indochine wouldn't be the same without the coconut cake. yes, i went there.

a-freakin-mazing!. not only is this some of the best asian food in wilmington, but the exterior back patio area is outstandingly beautiful! it truly feels as though you're transported fromwilmingtonstraight into an asian garden. there is nothing i love more than sitting out back on a cool night, enjoying the twinkling lights and waterfalls while i sip on an indochine martini and wait for my gold bags appetizer to arrive. pure heaven!

a -. indochine has good food, but for some reason it seems as though the quality of the food has gone downhill. what was once a truly pleasurable dining experience is now simply good. and while good is good, good is not great.

i usually take visitors towilmingtonto indochine for the atmosphere, and good (not great) food, as long as it is not prime time. if you go on a friday or saturday night you will wait. the interior of the restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. sitting outside is very nice.

i prefer big thai 1 to indochine for thai food, though.

this place is awesome!!! old family friends opened this place probably 15 years ago and it had been my favoritewilmingtonrestaurant ever since. the owner and her staff are wonderful and the food is consistently impeccable. the green curry chicken is always my favorite, but the coconut basil muscles are incredible, as is the pad thai. and dont skip desert. the mango sticky rice is delicious and so is the mouse-chocolate or mango.

not bad.... i think people have gotten caught up in the image that this place has developed. the food is really not the best thatwilmingtonhas to offer in thai or other pan asian. try thai bistro just up the street or even one of the big thai restaurants, their quality is much better. it's not a bad place, just not anything special. the atmosphere is fun though. especially the pretty outdoor patio.

probably the best thai food you can get in the area. this is not saying much,as it doesn't hold a candle to places like rambuttan in la or basil in charleston, but nevertheless, the bestwilmingtonhas to offer.

the best..hands down. some of you people must me eating at a different place. yes the wait can be long on weekends...want to guess why?? because it is by far the best food in town.

anytime we have out of town guests they all want to go to indochine, it is almost like a drug. i don't know of one person who does not like the quality of food. some people are confused by the menu the first time or so, but the staff will be happy to guide you.
the staff is great, and most have been there for a long time. the owner, is always there, which is not true for many restaurants. i am shocked at some of the reviews this fine place has gotten. if you have not been to indo, i highly recommend, and if you think i have a slanted view, then once again i would ask...why do you think they have the longest wait inwilmingtonfor a table? take one guess.

thanks nikki!!!!

declining quality. indochine used to be the premire asian restaurant in the area. unfortunately, it has declined in quality and service.
my last few times there have been a bit of a disappointment.
the flavor of the food was inconsistant (and there was a piece of wood in my soup) and the service was very slow. i gave it additional trys in case i had just been there on a "bad day". it seems that bad days are happeneing more and more frequently.
the good news is thatwilmingtonnow has thai spice, which is in the fast lane to becomming the best thai cuisne west of bangkok. downtown yo sake also offers interesting fare and excellent service.
