probably the best thai food you can get in the area. this is not saying much,as it doesn't hold a candle to places like rambuttan in la or basil in charleston, but nevertheless, the best wilmington has to offer.

the best..hands down. some of you people must me eating at a different place. yes the wait can be long on weekends...want to guess why?? because it is by far the best food in town.

anytime we have out of town guests they all want to go to indochine, it is almost like a drug. i don't know of one person who does not like the quality of food. some people are confused by the menu the first time or so, but the staff will be happy to guide you.
the staff is great, and most have been there for a long time. the owner, is always there, which is not true for many restaurants. i am shocked at some of the reviews this fine place has gotten. if you have not been to indo, i highly recommend, and if you think i have a slanted view, then once again i would ask...why do you think they have the longest wait in wilmington for a table? take one guess.

thanks nikki!!!!

congrats!!. winner of encore's "best of" competition for 2011. indochine won in three categories...best atmosphere, best thai/vietnamese, and best overall restaurant. for obvious reasons, this is a very busy restaurant. consider this if you have small children, "i have to have food right now" issues, or no patience. please go with a smile, prepare to wait if you go at peak dinner hours, have a drink, apps at the bar and enjoy the koi pond. then be served a great meal with great service and enough food leftover to have the next day. if you have been here before and had a bad experience, trust me, the issue has probably been resolved by now because the owners go out of their way to please their customers. indochine takes pride in offering high quality ingredients.

declining quality. indochine used to be the premire asian restaurant in the area. unfortunately, it has declined in quality and service.
my last few times there have been a bit of a disappointment.
the flavor of the food was inconsistant (and there was a piece of wood in my soup) and the service was very slow. i gave it additional trys in case i had just been there on a "bad day". it seems that bad days are happeneing more and more frequently.
the good news is that wilmington now has thai spice, which is in the fast lane to becomming the best thai cuisne west of bangkok. downtown yo sake also offers interesting fare and excellent service.

great atmosphere but... when it first opened it was really great food. over the past few years it's fallen off. if you like fruity drinks try the "one night in bangkok". i like their pepper steak.
thai spice restaurant in town serves a much better meal.

popularity doesn't make restaurants worthwhile. i used to be a regular at indochine, but i have been completely turned off after poor service over the last year or so. the staff has become rude and careless. i order the exact same dish and it comes out different every time; i guess the cooks figure no one will notice their inconsistencies in ingredients and spiciness. indochine is a great place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere, but the food is not what it could be. the owner ignores my complaints and i guess the place is so popular it doesn't matter to them. i also heard from a former employee that the kitchen is disgusting and he wouldn't eat there himself.

awesome ambiance!. indochine is by far one of the most aesthetically pleasing places in town...and the food is darn good too! a summertime treat is the opportunity to eat out in the yard...complete with little huts and "zen" statuary. food is typically tasty, original and plentiful. we've stumbled on an occasional bland dish, but this is the exception rather than the rule. we leave well fed and satisfied. going at peak meal times will ensure a wait as this could easily be one of the most visited restaurants in town. the wait is worth it.
