inca's cafe

i wanted to try apiscosour. i ended up at incas a few weeks ago because of their tuesday salsa night and i wanted to try a peruvianpiscosour (i'm from chile, so we have kind of a rivarly, haha).

thepiscosour was awesome- frothy, sweet, tangy and with a tiny amount of cinnamon (i think it was cinnamon) powder dusted on top. i danced, drank and wanted to come back to try the food. the lunch special i had was a beef stew-like dish with rice, salad and soup... i paid $7 for my meal + tip. it was awesome!!!

wow, yum, double wow yum. i have no words to describe the pleasure i find when eating at inca's cafe. i'm soooooo glad i found this place and will certainly recommend it time after time. the service was great, but the food was just a complete different out of this universe story.

i mean, i love food, but never in my life have i enjoyed a ceviche and just some plain white rice to be sooooooo good. thepiscosour and desserts took me by surprise too as i thought i'd be like something i've had before, but i was wrong, yes...wrong!

excellente food and service and affordable!!!!. on the contrary to the comment below me, i was highly referred to this restaurant by friends that enjoy good food among them some americans and peruvians. i visited several places before going to inca's cafe and in fact inca's cafe is the best latin restaurant i've been to since i moved to dallas from miami. it is a peruvian restaurant with great environment, the service was top of the line, the drinks were all fresh and deliscious. before heading to inca's cafe i visited their website and it fact it said about the independence day celebration taking place later in the evening, so we made reservations to get there earlier right before dinner.
my recommendations are:
any ceviche or seafood dish
jalea, lomito saltado, incal sampler and plato del caribe...
i also tried their "cabrito" which won a best of dallas award so, hmmm, that's got to be good if the food critics says is the best, the were darn right lol

as far as thepiscosour goes, they sell those suckers like crazy, so i'm not so sure they're as bad as they say since i'm not too familiar with them, but the fact is i see one in almost every table when i go there which is reguarly at lest twice a week for lunch since it's soo cheap and good food.

i'd recommend this to anyone who wants to be adventurous and give this place a shot. you won't regret it. don't take my word or anyone else's. just go and have a good meal and you'll feel glad you gave it a shot.

oh try their caramel cookies or "alphajores" as they call it. they are so good. they kind of melt in your mouth and want you wanting more, so watch out. lol

bad food, poorly managed. the ambiance is pleasant enough but the food was a disappointment. thepiscosour is made with cheappiscoand too much lime juice, the inca cola is watered down. the ceviche mixto is substandard with a barely marinated fish and nothing else in the mix (as there should be based on the name of the dish). the yuccas are bland. the seco de cabrito consisted of mostly bones. i think that the owner is trying to squeeze a big profit from little quality. i tried again to give it another chance but it turned out to be a peruvian celebration evening and the owner was charging an admission price at the door. she insisted that a family pay even for their two year old in tow, who was not going to eat or take up a seat. actions like these on the part of restaurant owners give me a bad feeling. will not be going back. if you do not want to have a bad experience or questionable food, you should not either.
