not cheap, but very creative. on the latin scale, peruvian food would best be described as a middle-of-the-road fusion, in my opinion. what it lacks in overt originality, inca's certainly makes up for it with subtle creativity.

a national favorite purple corn, fruit and cinnamon drink was delicious and was the perfect culinary prelude. artistry displayed in preparation, sauces and dressings is what will make you want to come back. my favorite was the yellow pepper cream with a hint of cheese adorning a soft, warm potato for the appetizer. it had a pleasant spice profile that lingered for the perfect amount of time.cevichewas reported as quality and respectably citrused. cilantro rice for my main was simple, but well-executed. first time in a long time i have had fried plantains that were perfect and not fried into a puddle of ooze. same goes for the soft yucca. black bean side was generous and paired well with a homemade pair of hot sauces. salad dressing was a delightful mixture of oil and acidity. i was too full from dinner, but the bites of the desserts i had from my husband and best friend were also great. the tres leches was the best i have had (ignoring the cool whip). the only thing that was not up to expectations was the overdone carne asada.

inca's is not inexpensive, but it is true small business run by a chef that cares deeply about quality cuisine. definitely worth the visit.

this was terrible!!. we went for dinner last night. the first clue should have been no people in the restaurant at 6:00pm, second clue no cooking smells. the yucca was dry and crusty, thecevichehad no flavor. i had seafood and rice, lots and lots of rice. the seafood was nonexistent and two of the mussels i was given did not even open during the cooking process. that means they were dead to begin with and should not be eaten. do not go here!!!

wow, yum, double wow yum. i have no words to describe the pleasure i find when eating at inca's cafe. i'm soooooo glad i found this place and will certainly recommend it time after time. the service was great, but the food was just a complete different out of this universe story.

i mean, i love food, but never in my life have i enjoyed acevicheand just some plain white rice to be sooooooo good. the pisco sour and desserts took me by surprise too as i thought i'd be like something i've had before, but i was wrong, yes...wrong!

top foods to try there

ceviche of any kind
cabrito
seafood of any kind
tres leches cake
inca sampler
lomito saltado

keep up the good work and hope this little place gets the word out to grow to be a well known place because it is worthy of any high cuisine authentic peruvian food recognition. yumm, i'm hungry again.

excellente food and service and affordable!!!!. on the contrary to the comment below me, i was highly referred to this restaurant by friends that enjoy good food among them some americans and peruvians. i visited several places before going to inca's cafe and in fact inca's cafe is the best latin restaurant i've been to since i moved to dallas from miami. it is a peruvian restaurant with great environment, the service was top of the line, the drinks were all fresh and deliscious. before heading to inca's cafe i visited their website and it fact it said about the independence day celebration taking place later in the evening, so we made reservations to get there earlier right before dinner.
my recommendations are:
anycevicheor seafood dish
jalea, lomito saltado, incal sampler and plato del caribe...
i also tried their "cabrito" which won a best of dallas award so, hmmm, that's got to be good if the food critics says is the best, the were darn right lol

as far as the pisco sour goes, they sell those suckers like crazy, so i'm not so sure they're as bad as they say since i'm not too familiar with them, but the fact is i see one in almost every table when i go there which is reguarly at lest twice a week for lunch since it's soo cheap and good food.

i'd recommend this to anyone who wants to be adventurous and give this place a shot. you won't regret it. don't take my word or anyone else's. just go and have a good meal and you'll feel glad you gave it a shot.

oh try their caramel cookies or "alphajores" as they call it. they are so good. they kind of melt in your mouth and want you wanting more, so watch out. lol

bad food, poorly managed. the ambiance is pleasant enough but the food was a disappointment. the pisco sour is made with cheap pisco and too much lime juice, the inca cola is watered down. thecevichemixto is substandard with a barely marinated fish and nothing else in the mix (as there should be based on the name of the dish). the yuccas are bland. the seco de cabrito consisted of mostly bones. i think that the owner is trying to squeeze a big profit from little quality. i tried again to give it another chance but it turned out to be a peruvian celebration evening and the owner was charging an admission price at the door. she insisted that a family pay even for their two year old in tow, who was not going to eat or take up a seat. actions like these on the part of restaurant owners give me a bad feeling. will not be going back. if you do not want to have a bad experience or questionable food, you should not either.

wow i'm the first comment ;) all i can say is that inca's cafe has by far the best latin american food i've tried since i've moved to dallas from miami. omg theircevicheis out of this world, every dish i had was "delicioso" and the service even better. do give this new place a shot and you'll get hooked. people the food is great and very affordable and you get very personable service oh yeah and the owner is very nice. my menu suggestions are any seafood dish and the lomito yuumm
