back to the future - we revisit our first ever ramen experience and wonder why we stopped visiting. it's summer, we want to avoid the city so head to bondi junction for a wander. after getting off the train past the mcdonalds with the best view in sydney, we head out to the mall on oxford st. we discover a huge new 100 yen style shop (although it's $2.50 here) and i'm instantly in heaven. shawn patiently waits outside and dreams of lunch. we've come to eat as well as shop, and we decide to give the re-located ichi-ban boshi a go. this was the first ramen joint we ate at in sydney, when it was further up oxford st in a smaller store. we remember having a really saltysoupthat made our tongues tingle, and we hardly ever went back. we had the same experience at the one outside the kinokinuya bookstore, and sought our ramen elsewhere. today we decide to give it another try. we start with a little dish of chasu rice, a little bowl of soft and tender pork and rice, a measly $3.50 and worth

a long queue to start with, but didn't end up disappointed. takoyakis were tasty, but don't try the ginger aside unless you are a fan of it. the eel rice was nice though the misosoupwas just ok. the restaurant was quite noisy and the seats were limited, while taking into account of their popularity, this was reasonable. in general, the food was cheap and delicious here.

cheap japanese eatery in bondi junction. we ordered at the counter before finding our seats inside. the ramen was nice, not the best, but it should do in terms of price. the soy sauce-soupwas way too salty, so i just had my ramen and stole some of my partner’s soybean paste soup. i’d consider coming back here for a quick meal, but for ramen, maybe not my first preference.

one of the best ramen place in bondi and maybe sydney i have tried so far in the last 4 month!! the menu on zomato is a little bit old, i paid for this tonkotsu sth around 13-14 dollers, which is average for ramen. thesoupbase is fantastic but since tonkotsu is more a creamy one, i got full quick and the broth tasted more and more too salty for me after a while.

what don‘t like was one of the staff she was kinda rude to me when i asked for her recommendation even thought i was the first costumer after they opened!!! this ramen place must be famous since it got crowded quickly!!

if you don‘t care about the service this place is a good one if you are in bondi!!

we love this place -- no frills, clean, efficient and everything is very fresh. i have a weakness for the super-dooper-salty wonton-mensoupand my partner's fave is the off-menu prawn nyu-men (spelling?)soupbut we also love the tokyo ramen, the tempura udon and the agedashi tofu.  pour yourself a glass of icy-cold water and listen to all the polite japanese shouting as the front staff communicate with the kitchen -- i do love their floating tankuverymaaaaaaaaach farewell as you leave...

nice noodles. my mil highly recommends this place and used come once a week for years. i finally went for dinner tonight and thought their miso ramen was quite nice. their noodles have a good bouncy texture but theirsoupbase is a bit salty and oily so i left most of this behind. i tried my husbands tonkatsu ramen and this had a better broth but i'm not a fan of their thin noodles. we also tried their agendashi tofu and takoyaki which were decent.

service is efficient and its cash only, they have indoor and outdoor seating but basic decor and not really a place to linger. many were coming in to takeaway.

interesting, i'd never had a warm tsukemen before. basically the ramen noodles on the right are in a pretty blandsoupwith some slices of pork and shallots. you dip the noodles into the more concentrated flavoured broth on the left. yum! ma chose the tonkotsu ramen. they only ma

the tonkatsu raven (limited to 15 serves each day) here has one of the best broth i have ever tasted. it is very rich in flavour while not being too salty. the broth itself is thicker than normalsoupsays something how good it is. the noodle is soaked full the flavour of the soup,, while being a tad bit too tender. only one very thin slice of pork is served though, harming the value proposition at $10.90. the very hot raven is not spicy at all, according to my die hard spicy-phile wife; and without that, there's nothing special about it to warrant another try. the iced green tea cappuccino is one of the worst i had lately, so steer away from it. in summary, i'll come back for the tonkatsu raven, and try something else next time.
