back to the future - we revisit our first ever ramen experience and wonder why we stopped visiting. it's summer, we want to avoid the city so head tobondijunction for a wander. after getting off the train past the mcdonalds with the best view in sydney, we head out to the mall on oxford st. we discover a huge new 100 yen style shop (although it's $2.50 here) and i'm instantly in heaven. shawn patiently waits outside and dreams of lunch. we've come to eat as well as shop, and we decide to give the re-located ichi-ban boshi a go. this was the first ramen joint we ate at in sydney, when it was further up oxford st in a smaller store. we remember having a really salty soup that made our tongues tingle, and we hardly ever went back. we had the same experience at the one outside the kinokinuya bookstore, and sought our ramen elsewhere. today we decide to give it another try. we start with a little dish of chasu rice, a little bowl of soft and tender pork and rice, a measly $3.50 and worth

cheap japanese eatery inbondijunction. we ordered at the counter before finding our seats inside. the ramen was nice, not the best, but it should do in terms of price. the soy sauce- soup was way too salty, so i just had my ramen and stole some of my partner’s soybean paste soup. i’d consider coming back here for a quick meal, but for ramen, maybe not my first preference.

one of the best ramen place inbondiand maybe sydney i have tried so far in the last 4 month!! the menu on zomato is a little bit old, i paid for this tonkotsu sth around 13-14 dollers, which is average for ramen. the soup base is fantastic but since tonkotsu is more a creamy one, i got full quick and the broth tasted more and more too salty for me after a while.

what don‘t like was one of the staff she was kinda rude to me when i asked for her recommendation even thought i was the first costumer after they opened!!! this ramen place must be famous since it got crowded quickly!!

if you don‘t care about the service this place is a good one if you are in bondi!!

ichiban boshi is a solid and decent venue for a quick ramen meal. thebondijunction eatery is located along the pedestrianised pavement near westfield and features an outdoor alfresco area and a cozy indoor.

i ordered my favourite grilled pork ramen. the shio broth is clear and savoury - probably a little too salty for my preference. but the flame-grilled pork slices were delicious (though a little too tough and chewy).

i don't know why, but i knew about this place first from the original branch in cbd but never got to try it because of the long queue. instead, somehow ended up trying this place after a client inbondiby chance. was welcomed in warmly by the staff and given suggestions from the menu.

ordered the chicken katsu don ($10.5)  and really liked the dish in general, with the sauce they added to the rice which was just the right balance. the takoyaki dish of 8 balls ($5), although a little pricey were also delicious, and i remember being incredibly full from the servings after.

definitely a good place to try for some quick and relatively cheap japanese food in bondi! :)

as ichi-ban boshi in the city is my favourite ramen so far in sydney i was excited to find out there was one inbondijunction with outdoor seating. but we were on a mission to find certain components for a hardware project cobalt had to stay at home.

the ordering system here is different. you go and pay at the counter get a number and hopefully find a seat. we ordered the negimiso ramen with the topping of boiled vegetables and gyoza to share.

as always the ramen was awesome, the leek and the vegetable offering a crunchy contrast to the broth and slippery noodles.

my partner enjoy it as well and at this stage ichi-ban boshi is his favourite ramen place.

great ramen. great location, short walk to westfieldbondijunction so after having a really filling bowl of ramen you can do some walks to the shopping mall. the place is packed mostly on weekends but you won't wait for more than 15 mins so it's all good. the ramen and dumpling+rice aren't worth it so keep in mind when you go to ichi ban boshi, all you order is just their ramen :)
