i ordered mutton briyani and spl 65 briyani. they provide brinjal gravy, raitha and sweet. sweet is unlimited and briyani was less spicy and hot(temperature). needed more flavor for briyani. chicken 65 was yummy.

1st i go with chicken briyani ..was too good , well marinated pieces & pakka taste ..!

then chicken 65 briyani . thats plain briyani stuffed with chicken 65 ..! that chicken 65 was awesome & great taste

and finally my fav... mutton briyani ..! the well marinated pieces of mutton vera level taste & fully aroma packed product...!

after a few of my friends suggested me to try out the biryani here, as they said it has a "marriage walla biryani taste" as the name suggests, i gave it a shot.
so i loved the biryani taste here, even the mutton pieces were nicely cooked and tender. even the chicken biryani has a really nice flavor. haven't tried their 65 biryani yet.
haven't been to the restaurant, so can't comment anything on the ambience or dine in experience.
only con is the price we are paying is pretty high for the quantity of biryani. although the taste of the biryani is amazing and u won't be disappointed.

one of the better spots in the city for biryanis. located right on the main road with decent two-wheeler parking space. biryani served on a banana leaf with a sweet, gravy and a raitha.

chicken biryani – have tried cb at many places and comparatively speaking this place too serves tender meat with kicky spice. the rice was well cooked and put aside the bones, the biryani was so good.
mutton biryani – though there wasn’t much meat, the mutton was succulent, juicy and better than the cb. the gravy was much different from other places; typical sweet to begin/end the meal with.

no hassles with service. the only complaint which i felt was the price. lately in chennai there have been many biryani joints serving just one plate with great taste and quantity, but this place is on the higher side for the serving size.

biriyani is not upto the level of the price what they charging. yesterday we have special chicken 🐔 65 biriyani cost rs. 200/- we were asked to purchase token before we eat. we brought the token and compare to any other biriyani restaurants they charged high so we expected a lot, restaurants was not with air conditioning that is also ok, leaf service was super so our imagination of biriyani was so high. once we got our biriyani we started taste our imagination gone down. even road side biriyani shop would prepare well than this. to - kalyan bhavan before you fix price to your biriyani please do try other shop biriyani and try your restaurant biriyani then you will fix your price for rs. 25/- only.

the food is good . and they serving the food is also good. they are keeping the place clean and the cost is normal and the food quantity is also more .. #foodie..

mutton biryani - the mutton biryani is always my best in kalayana bavan. the mutton is well cooked and tender.

the rating is low because hotel kalyana bhavan must look into their consistency, i had mixed experience on multiple visits to the same place.

kalyana bhavan biryani - in between a muslim wedding biryani and typical chennai biryani. we cannot it move it to either of the category fully.
the flavor was 65% matching with muslim wedding biryani and 35% chennai biryani, because, it was more spicy than a wedding biryani.
coming to the price, it was not having the quantity compared to the price, but the taste was good, but not wonderful. not enough pieces on the biryani, which was a little disappointing. also, the pieces available is mostly full of bones. no much flesh.
coming to chicken 65, it is not boneless. also, the quantity is comparitively lesser.
if you want to have the flavor of both chennai and bhai biryani, you can go for it.
the location was in a congested area due to which, you cannot go on car and have a lunch. either, you have to go to get a parcel or to park somewhere else and come here for dining in.

kalyan bhavan briyani is the best and its comes in a reasonable prize . this briyani is not very spicy and the chicken 65 was a good match to it . lovely food and the stomach feels good .

this place is in the top ten biriyani places in chennai. being a biriyani fanatic,i just had too see for myself was it worth the hype.
i went with the expectation of tamil muslim wedding style biriyani.
ugh! what a disappointment.
the biriyani was dry and there was hardly any mutton. although the mutton tasted good, the rice felt like i was having fried rice with a bit of spice in it. oh almost forgot,they give you a pineapple kesari with your biriyani which was okay.
the best biriyani are usually muslim wedding style biriyani’s, please don’t go expecting that. go if you want to have an average biriyani.
overall, not worth the hype.

average biriyani. not up to the mark. biriyani is very dry and didn't have much meat in it. the taste was blunt as well. not work travelling here to have biriyani.

worst biriyani. both mutton and chicken briyani were too dry. chicken biriyani was too spicy. biriyani will not be hot. customer service was so poor. you will get only one big piece of chicken/mutton and egg will not be there in biriyani. 390 rupees for both chicken and mutton biriyani(which has no taste,no sufficient pieces etc) was a total bullshit

ordered mutton biriyani, chicken 65 biriyani and chicken 65.. worth for the money.. great taste... great flavour.. served hot.. though quantity looks less.. but satisfies one good eater...
