hotel kalyana bhavan biriyani

if its lunch time and if i had to eat outside the first question that comes to my mind is 'where can i get good biryani ?'.
well i was at egmore and my friend knew about this place and took me there. we ordered 2 mutton biryani and 1 portion chicken65.

taste and quantity:

i was happy to see banana leaf on the table, not many hotels serve on them these days. btw piping hot meals/biryani served on banana leaf gives a whole new level of awesomeness to the taste! so the waiter came with the condiments i.e raitha, brinjal gravy and surprise surprise.....kesari halwa 😍!

all fine but where is my biryani....i wonder. so came the biryani on a stainless steel plate. quantity was more than enough but the texture was a big big dissapointment 🙁. its was full of that mint leaves, lumps of masala and tomato.

you know that feel you get on seeing a good textured biryani....that feel was missing here.

taste not that great. personally i would not eat here again.

easily one of the best places to get authentic biriyani.. mutton biriyani is simply the best.. the meat literally falls off the bone..too gud.. moderately priced, non ac dining makes this place more of a mess than a restaurant... hopefully one day they'll have better seating and ambience... but that isn't gonna stop me from going back to this place asap.... cheers..

biriyani not gud, not like the one at 2nd beach lane.  they have one menu, "special chicken biriyani", where they add fried chicken to the kuska, totally hopeless.

a friend of mine took me to this place,the name itself hinted me something special about this place.the smell says it all.to be frank,this place has a really great biriyani! i got the chance to try both chicken and mutton biriyani,the rice is thoroughly cooked with their spices same as the meat.the highlight is it's being served with a sweet(kesari),perfect raita and a brinjal chutney.it is located very close to govt. eye hospital.if your going there for dinner i would suggest to go early because most of the time they run out of biriyani

very good biryani, if you want to have good biryani this is the place, the best part is the limited item on the menu. should try the chicken biryani and chicken 65

i use to go there every week. taste is bad in the recent days. it looks like a masala rice mixed with some pieces. if you order for chicken 65. only bones will be there. i am not sure about the other branches. but, egmore branch does a very bad job.

one of best biryani's i have ever tasted. we really liked the sweet that was served with biryani. the chicken 65 was also delicious. must try.

i say its an average briyani comparing the taste, though a lot of people say that and this about this place i dont see much of anything. the briyani was ok and the staffs were not gentle, since you cant expect more about the ambiance i was expecting the taste of the briyani to be good but by the time i went the mutton briyani was over and we had chicken which was very average which was one among the normal class briyani you get in all places. overall its an average place to have briyani on my opinion.

this review is purely based on a takeaway..i love their briyani since long..i still remember my dad buying me this since childhood and my face goes all eeee :-d more than the briyani i love the sweet provided..and after a long long time my dad bought their takeaway mutton briyani and i was eeee ;-) all over agn.
i heard the taste is been deteriorating lately but never used to believe but frankly it has been drastically going down..nevertheless its good...the texture of the rice and the soft mutton has never changed and thats why its a 3.5...brinjal raita is also a hit..
p.s. they shd definitely not let down the hype they got and shd definitely pay attention to keep up their brand name.

biriyani are good. . service is good. a good place to go only for their food. food is served in banana leaf, which is very nice.
simple ambience.
no parking place is a drawback-got to park on road side only.
3.75 is what i would have rated for the food.
.25 extra for banana leaf. 😁

if you want to enjoy a good biryani for lunch or dinner. this place is where u can highly rely on. now relocated near mdmk's office at egmore(eye hospital road). u are left with 5 types of biryani options. the mutton/chicken pieces in biryani is well cooked and its tender. they are keeping up their fan/customer trust, so you can go have a check in their. servers are friendly and u are served with a sweet, brinjal bhaji and a raita., u may also ask for extra of these., biryani is served well and amount of biryani served is higher compared to other biryani places. i love and i always suggest this place for my friends., a good place to enjoy biryani.

the people are rude here. they wouldn't even agree to join two tables even though we were a group of 8. we were asked to sit at separate tables. it wasn't crowded, mind you, but the staff insisted that "it can get crowded anytime" . they moved to this new bigger place recently but they neither have a family room or an ac hall nor are they willing to accommodate more dinners in a single table . the food is okay, but doesn't compensate for the cold attitude.

never want to go there again, no thank you .

suggestion: get a parcel and get the hell out. enjoy the food at home.

classic biryanis

i wud say they started this biryani culture in classic places of chennai. try my hands on this outlet.. had mutton biryaninand chicken 65. the biryani was delicious the place was neat and clean no ac though. the authentic banna leaf service adds taste to the biryani. the brinjal and onions were good.

after hearing a lot of good reviews about this hotel went here to taste briyani bcoz they serve briyanis and chicken 65 only, we went here at 2 o clock so the place was crowded somehow founded a table after seated came to know that we have to buy tokens before having food and the disappointing thing was they don't accept cards we have to pay in cash, after this we finally tasting our foods briyani tastes normal briyani's side dishes(brinjal curry, onion raita) tastes great and chicken 65 tastes delicious along this they serve sweet(rava keasari) it was nice to eat that after having a spicy food and then ambiance here was not so great....

a place which serves only biryani and that too good biryani. pricing is moderate and the quantity is also good. feels like eating in a marriage. that kind of a taste. overall a good place for biryani lovers.
