having purchased another dinner voucher deal, this time it was time to try hoosegow charcoal restaurant 419 magill road, saint morris. when you don't know what to expect from a new restaurant, a voucher is agreatway to try it. this was another unexpectedgreatexperience. our voucher deal consisted of the meat plank for two with char-grilled eye fillet, chilli chicken, chorizo, olives, vegetables and charred ciabatta (bread) along with a glass of wine each. what an amazing offer at $28.00 for the two of us!.......

if i could give this place 100 stars i would do it without hesitation. i went here tonight for my work end of year dinner and was blown away with not only the food but the service, ambiance and overall atmosphere. the menu is not cheap but the quality and presentation of the food is worth every dollar spent. all the dishes were excellent but my main meal (wagyu eye fillet with truffle mash, mushroom and asparagus) would easily be one of the best meals i have ever had in my life. the flavours were out of this world and every mouthful was heaven! whoever designed this menu is a genius and the staff cooking it are equality as talented! thanks for agreatexperience!

very impressed by this place - a little on the expensive side but they were happy to use entertainment book vouchers which made it more affordable. the entrees were nice and the meats were very good quality. one of the best meat places at the moment! staff aregreatand the team all saying farewell at the door on the way out is a nice touch. will be back.

loved everything about this place! excellent service, staff were cheerful and very welcoming. the food was tasty and beautifully presented. i really enjoyed the barramundi dish. the restaurant on saturday night was full and had agreatvibe about it. i would definitely return.

this restaurant surely did not disappoint - impeccable service, lovely decor and most importantly (in my opinion) delicious food.

we ordered the meat platter for two and i have to say their meat platter exceeded our expectations in terms of portion size and taste. their signature chicken was to die for! it was succulent, flavoursome, and had agreatspicy kick to it. personally, i would return just to have a chicken dish on its own.

will be returning..once my wallet permits it!

from the moment you walk through the door with the owner and his wife greeting you and your friends/family to the moment you leave this fantastic spot, you are spoilt with a mouth watering selection of foods to suit any palate, your orders are taken quickly, your food is served in a very reasonable time and the food is to die for. i have been to hoosegow multiple times and have tried something different every time, the food is just great!!! and the service is the best i have ever had.
i would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoysgreatfood and fantastic service.

just enjoyed a fabulous meal:-the meat plate to share was plentiful andgreatflavours. lovely wait staff thanks nico. make sure you have the hot apple pie shot before you leave!

the service was excellent. even though it was quite busy water was topped up and orders taken quickly. the confit garlic was agreatway to start the meal. there is a meat focus on the menu and the passion was demonstrated in our slow cooked beef and pork - yum!

this was the location for a special occasion and the quailty of the food matched the day. the eye fillet steak was mouth watering and tender. it had agreatpepper taste and went down a treat. the chilli chicken was cooked to perfection and a pleasure to devour. the starters weregreata freshness and flavour. to finish the hazelnut ciger had something in it that reminded me a christmas. if you like your charcoal cooked food you need to try this place!

dancing taste buds!. thank you hoosegow! we were visiting from sydney and it was agreatnight we really enjoyed it. everything we ordered was so yummy. the lamb backstrap was deliciously charcoal so tender and tasty. the service wasgreatand i would thoroughly recommend hoosegow. definitely will be coming back!

fantastic food !. "hoosegow" ! the food was fantastic! serves were generous and the "fat chips" are to die for!
eye fillet with chimichurri - perfectly cooked and chimichurri the perfect accompaniment!
meat platter -greatselection and more than generous.
pork ribs beautifully slow cooked, tender and melt in the mouth.
afahoosegow with grand marnier, and lemon curd tart with persian fairy floss the perfect finish.
a beautiful meal!

mr t. to be honest a little bit disappointed. dined here on a friday night with some friends and found the service to be exceptional, although a little on the slow side particularly with drinks. were disappointed in the minimal variety of entrees available on the night in particular the lack of quail and the pumpkin bread that was just horrible. finally the mains arrived, 4 of the 6 ordered the rib eye steak and while they lookedgreatwere a little overcooked and lacked flavour. the final two ordered the meat platter which had some nice flavours but the chicken was a little on the rare side. overall given we had spent close to $100 per head here for a meal we were all in agreeance that we were disappointed and probably wouldn't return.
