another awesome addition to the coast. not to steal someone else's comment but i'm hooked on hook. two thumbs up on the construction. the inside although new it has a nice rustic feel about it. with the old barn wood on the ceiling and the rustic hardwood flooring it just has a relaxing feel about the place. whether you want to just have a drink at the copper top bar, dine inside or dine outside on the porch you will enjoy yourself. sitting on the porch with the breeze coming off the ocean which is only a block away is very relaxing.

i've been to therestauranta number of time now and have had several items off the menu. everything i've had was outstanding. the steaks just melt in your mouth, i don't dare to put any steak sauce on the steak it will just take away from the flavor of the steak. i particularly like to go there for the fish. both corry and reuben are excellent chef's. the snapper is to die for. the trout just as good as the snapper although i will say the portion seemed a little small but you know what, that's okay too. we american's need to learn what a reasonable portion is. that's one reason why mississippi is such an obese state.

i've read some of the not so good reviews and i don't know what to say about those who claim they were disappointed. the menu all though it might resemble some of the food from other restaurants but hey it's the gulf coast. they all have seafood and steaks. they just have their own flare about them. to me hook has it all going on. yes they have had some staffing issues to get over but who doesn't have staffing issues when you open a new restaurant. the wait staff are young. give the kids a break. some of them have never had a job and it's their first opportunity to work with the public. do you remember your first job? unfortunately some don't pan out and you have to let them go. that's life.

all and all i think hook will do just fine. great location, beautiful facility, and outstanding chef's. keep up the good work hook. we'll definitely be coming back for years to come.

a nice addition. i have managed to try this newrestauranta couple of times now. as others have noted, it is completely new and has all new staff. although there is a learning curve that they need to come up, at least the stafff have a positive attitude and they are trying to do a good job. cory and laura (the owners) are experienced people and i fully expect that things will continue to do nothing but improve. the food has been fine, but not great. adding the tag "cuisine" to the name could be a stretch, but the meals we have had have been pretty darn good. i am hoping that they will continue to add some more creative dishes and more seafood dishes as they gain experience. the dining more casual then "fine" dining, but being a newrestaurantthat is owner operated, it has a lot of potential.

hook is an absolute gem. i ate there for the first time after my husband recommended it and it was honestly one of the best meals of my life - and i've travelled extensively to some food-centric areas. the ingredients are incredibly fresh and not a single dish required seasoning. we shared crawfish tail spinach dip to start, then grilled chicken with a vegetable medley and lump crab and blackened mahi mahi with pass christian topping and seafood pasta. of note, the vegetables were wonderfully prepared - broccoli had a tasty little char and nothing was overcooked. dessert was an apple dumpling with ice cream - it had a true dumpling texture. the staff were incredibly attentive, happy, and helpful. beautiful and quaint little spot. i love how customizable the menu is. chef corry introduces some innovative twists on classic fare. i can't say enough about how awesome the food was. i've never given arestaurantfive stars, but hook absolutely deserves it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

no service. my husband & i attempted to have lunch at hooks on friday, march 14, 2014. we were seated, looked over the menu & made our selection. we waited for a server to take our order. we waited, while 2 servers walked around us many times, never stopping to take our drink order or even acknowledging our presence. we decided since we were not "locals" we were being ignored, we walked out. therestaurantand the server missed out on serving possible return customers. we won't waste our time entering their door again.

what a fabulous newrestaurantwe just found in pass christian. hook's chef/owner serves up some simply delicious seafood! we tried the seafood gumbo and the seafood pasta with shrimp, crab, mushrooms, tomato, and green onions sauted in a light seafood broth and served over angel hair pasta. we also tried the fresh snapper which was melt-in-your-mouth perfect. if you are looking for high end seafood cuisine at a reasonable price, you must give hook a try. we will be back soon!

just gets better and better!!. every visit to hook is a real treat! this is onerestaurantthat has thoroughly shaken off opening night jitters and has settled into serving some of the best and freshest food on the coast. the fish is always superb and the pasta light and flavorful. there's not a bad dish in the place!
a great and much needed addition to pass christian and to coast dining.

time heals all wounds. this week i had my second and third meals at hook, after the first and fairly disasterous dinner the 2nd week they opened. every establishment deserves a second chance, and i'm happy to say hook is on the way up. my two lunches there this week were both very very good...one a chili rubbed burger, nicely seasoned and well presented, and the second a very tasty club sandwich.
the service has also improved markedly, being both very friendly and efficient.
keep up the good work, hook?

one or two hits and a ballbag full of misses!. gosh, what a disappointment on my first visit to hook!! therestaurantgot the decor and feel very right....casual and relaxed without being too chummy, and the building is a real asset to the street. but in the food department, the chef and manager are either completely disinterested in quality or clueless in the operation of a good eating establishment.
having been forewarned by another patron, i nevertheless ordered the pork brisket. i can't remember when i have had a tougher cut of pork or one that had so little flavor and seasoning. even salt and pepper could not raise that piglet from the grave!
our waitress was very nice , but obviously had been given no training in proper serving of patrons. dishes remained uncollected on the table, a glass of wine sitting on the bar for 15 minutes was never delivered, no recommendations were made....and the list goes on.
every establishment deserves a second chance, and i will try one more time. but i fear unless massive change is in the wind, hook will disappear as quickly as "the one that got away".

perfect for a sophisticated, relaxed night out. i love the atmosphere at this restaurant! the drinks are great the they have a decent wine list... the apptizers (oysters rockefeller is so good!) are awesome. daily specials for both dinner and lunch! this place is much better than the poorly ran bistro down the road and way more classy than shaggy's. while i have to say that i do wish they had more of a selection of seafood, they have only been established for a over a week. running arestaurantis trial and error and it takes a few weeks to perfect a menu and work out kinks. i give it an 8 out of 10 right now, but can't wait to try it again in a month or so to see what new specials they have.
