we went to hook's for their wednesday night burger night. taylor was our server and she was amazing. she suggested a hamburger with the goat cheese crochet and this special sauce. our entire table ordered it and we aptly named the burger the "taylor" burger. best burger i have ever had. amazing. perfectly cooked and the mix of the flavors was fantastic. we will be back and we are bringing friends.

another awesome addition to the coast. not to steal someone else's comment but i'm hooked on hook. two thumbs up on the construction. the inside although new it has a nice rustic feel about it. with the old barn wood on the ceiling and the rustic hardwood flooring it just has a relaxing feel about the place. whether you want to just have a drink at the copper top bar, dine inside or dine outside on the porch you will enjoy yourself. sitting on the porch with the breeze coming off the ocean which is only a block away is very relaxing.

i've been to the restaurant a number of time now and have had several items off the menu. everything i've had was outstanding. the steaks just melt in your mouth, i don't dare to put any steak sauce on the steak it will just take away from the flavor of the steak. i particularly like to go there for the fish. both corry and reuben are excellent chef's. the snapper is to die for. the trout just as good as the snapper although i will say the portion seemed a little small but you know what, that's okay too. we american's need to learn what a reasonable portion is. that's one reason why mississippi is such an obese state.

i've read some of the not so good reviews and i don't know what to say about those who claim they were disappointed. the menu all though it might resemble some of the food from other restaurants but hey it's the gulf coast. they all have seafood and steaks. they just have their own flare about them. to me hook has it all going on. yes they have had some staffing issues to get over but who doesn't have staffing issues when you open a new restaurant. the wait staff are young. give the kids a break. some of them have never had a job and it's their first opportunity to work with the public. do you remember your first job? unfortunately some don't pan out and you have to let them go. that's life.

all and all i think hook will do just fine. great location, beautiful facility, and outstanding chef's. keep up the good work hook. we'll definitely be coming back for years to come.

a nice addition. i have managed to try this new restaurant a couple of times now. as others have noted, it is completely new and has all new staff. although there is a learning curve that they need to come up, at least the stafff have a positive attitude and they are trying to do a good job. cory and laura (the owners) are experienced people and i fully expect that things will continue to do nothing but improve. the food has been fine, but not great. adding the tag "cuisine" to the name could be a stretch, but the meals we have had have been pretty darn good. i am hoping that they will continue to add some more creative dishes and more seafood dishes as they gain experience. the dining more casual then "fine" dining, but being a new restaurant that is owner operated, it has a lot of potential.

had brunch there today, & we were all disappointed! service was slow & food was not up to par. eggs benedict were over cooked & the yolks were hard. the quiche was very dry & we didn't care for the taste of the sausage. our server never came back to see if we were alright until she picked up our plates. she saw i had hardly touched my food & i told her everything was over cooked. she gave me the bill then said the manager would be right out to talk to me. the manager never came over. we paid the full bill, but won't be back!

the stuffed shrimp. possibly the best meal i've ever had. seriously. the oysters rockafeller appetizer was pretty impressive too. the coast has been longing for a place like this for sometime now. not only great food but an awesome atmosphere. well done hook.

i had my first experience at hook for lunch and it was fabulous! aesthetically pleasing and staff is friendly and good at their jobs. food was wonderful! i started with a wonderfully flavored cup of gumbo. then had a tasty fried shrimp and spinach salad with a divine bacon vinaigrette. and ended this delicious meal with a to die for slice of chocolate sweet and salty cake! definitely will be visiting this wonderful restaurant again! an excellent addition to a great area in the pass!

new favorite. i had luch at hook for the first time today. i tried the pullen and pork poboy, it was great. this poboy is loaded with chicken and bacon and several different cheeses. it's like a meaty grilled cheese on steroids!!!! i highly recommend trying this. the waitresses were very attentive, service was quick and one of the owners even stopped by our table to check on us. extremely great place to do lunch and i am looking forward to trying their dinner menu.

good food, although its a bit pricey. service was not the fastest but still good and friendly. i was looking forward to one sandwich i had seen on the online menu but did not realize that you could not order that for dinner. i think that made the experience pretty disappointing since i had my mind made up already. i will have to try again for lunch next time.

disappointed. i have heard good things about this place and just had to go and try it...what a disappointment!! the menu is sparse to say the least, service is slow at best and untrained. i am used to enjoying the food at the many little restaurant's on davis ave, too bad this isn't one of the caliber i am used to. oh and i cannot forget to say that there is hardly any seafood in the place...gulf coast cuisine???

not a huge menu but seems as if everything is homemade. had the fresh catch grilled with sautéed spinach instead of standard french fries. they know how to cook the seafood... never over done. desserts are fabulous, too. always full but not over full after eating here. take my parents here but it is not handicap friendly meaning the building/outside area does not have ramp for walker or wheelchair. but the food is great!

hook is a good place to eat if you're in pass christian.  decent sized menu and a good location in the middle of the cute downtown area of the pass.  service is kind of hit or miss though.  food quality is very good.  best fish tacos i've ever had.  in fact, when i go there i actually look forward to ordering something "without meat" on fridays :)  beer selection could use an upgrade.  overall we usually enjoy going to hook and the food is always good, if not a bit pricey.

the good: probably the best food in town (way better than baccus) - ordered the mahi mahi with cucumber and spinach - outstanding! we also ordered the seafood pasta - the sauce was light and did not overwhelm the seafood. also ordered the parmesan eggplant dish - breaded to perfection. very attentive wait staff.

the not so good: decor is sparse and casual - not really in line with the upscale food. could use some upgrades to table and chairs.

hook is an absolute gem. i ate there for the first time after my husband recommended it and it was honestly one of the best meals of my life - and i've travelled extensively to some food-centric areas. the ingredients are incredibly fresh and not a single dish required seasoning. we shared crawfish tail spinach dip to start, then grilled chicken with a vegetable medley and lump crab and blackened mahi mahi with pass christian topping and seafood pasta. of note, the vegetables were wonderfully prepared - broccoli had a tasty little char and nothing was overcooked. dessert was an apple dumpling with ice cream - it had a true dumpling texture. the staff were incredibly attentive, happy, and helpful. beautiful and quaint little spot. i love how customizable the menu is. chef corry introduces some innovative twists on classic fare. i can't say enough about how awesome the food was. i've never given a restaurant five stars, but hook absolutely deserves it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
