this is one of my two favorite brunch places in louisville and it’s the only one out of my two favorites that has retained their brunch menu during this pandemic and is my go to for take out on sundays for brunch. all of thefoodis delicious (i think i’ve tried most of the brunch menu if not all). i’ve dined in before pandemic and everything was great, excellent service. the take out has been excellent so far. everything was accurate, fresh, and high quality. i haven’t eaten their dinner yet but i have heard great things.

thefoodis great but the service is rude. they are always acting like they're doing you a favor by getting you what you're paying for. if you don't mind people treating you like you're bothering them then it's worth it!

had a nice, cozy atmostphere very secluded, quite and private on the back patio. if you're into a wide variety of beer andfoodi highly recommend it. limitedfoodmenu, but very delicious

we practically live here. we consider the bar tenders our friends as we know them all by name and they know us. we never have to look for a beer we might like because they know what we like so we just ask them "what do you have for me tonight?" nail on the head pretty much every time. thefoodis to die for. it's got the pubfoodfeel with a gourmet taste & presentation. the eclectic specials are always yummy and the frites are known around town, as is the burger. one of my personal favorites is the dill pickle soup. ok so the green salad with goat cheese, candied pecans and apple cider vinaigrette is right up there also. wait! the mussels are yummy and my hubby loves the thai spiced chicken wings when they have them on the menu. the ambiance takes the cake. as a pastor it is very cool to go to church to drink beer and hang with my favorite bar tenders in the city! we went to the new years eve 7 course beer pairing event this year and had so much fun! we will be celebrating 2017 with the crew next dec 31st for sure!

the building this restaurant is located in is incredibly eclectic as it is an old church. the brews are good but i would consider thefoodvery overpriced and different. not a place to take a picky eater or someone on a budget. definitely a great spot to grab a drink and play catch up with an old friend.

the burger is the best burger i've had period. there's other places in town that claim to have the best burger. thg only has one burger and i promise it whips them all... badly. it's ridiculously priced but i still get it. how on earth someone can justify charging $14 bucks for a burger i have no idea. i guess i'm the idiot though because i keep going. 🔥💰
i must also add that i don't like places that don't make it perfectly clear where to order or what to do. if you've never been there everyone will know it but no one will tell you what to do. give peas a chance!! table service upstairs i guess??

burger-outta this world on taste, quality, and price

beer cheese & pretzel - amazingly delicious

frites (steak fries in my neck of the woods) - hot, made to order, and extremely delicious.. one question.. can i just have some ketchup with my curry style please? yes, i know what a frite is. i also know i'm in america.

wings - did not do it for me. whole wings? nah

they also have an ever changing craft beer selection that most of my beer snob friends love. if you're that person you'll love the beer too.

it's small, cramped, confusing, sports a gravel patio, buys locally sourced food, has a wide selection of craft beers, employs several dudes with beards, chicks with tats, and you may see a few knit caps but make no mistake, thefoodis very very very good and you should go. you won't fit in but who cares?

beer selection was great and thefoodwas amazing. the shishito peppers were the best i've ever had. sitting outside in the back was like being in another world and the stained glass decor was very cool.

really awesome spot in the area. thefoodwas spectacular and the beer selection, though limited, is really top notch. the service is fine even though it is self-service but the atmosphere is great.

disdain for its customers. this place is consistent. thefoodis consistently good. the selection of beer is consistently good. the service is consistently unfriendly and rude. if you like paying premium prices for goodfoodand beer while being treated as if the staff is doing you a favor, this is the place for you! it took me a while to realize that the terrible service was not simply a mistake - it appears management actually prefers to treat their guests with disdain. go figure.

burguer was really good (although on the greasy side), chicken was nice (extremely small portion) and the mussels were excellent! service a bit cold andfoodportions could be better, specially considering it is a bit pricey. great beer selections. might try it again...

great selection of unique beers, yummyfood(much better than the normal pub food), and a really nice beer garden outside. the inside is pretty small. upstairs was nice too. the only negative was the pretzel and the pork sliders were really good, but a little on the greasy side (i.e. tons of butter on the pretzel- was better the second time when we requested less butter). cute decor.

the beer selection is great. i enjoy trying different types of beers, and this is a fantastic place for it. thefoodis also great. my friend and i both had the brussel sprout salad, so delicious. however, the place is very small and gets pretty packed on a friday night. we sat in the loft and it was pretty tight and got very warm up there. our server was a little rude...after we ordered our beers he brought my friends thiers and i was told mine needed to "settle" before i could have it? after about five minutes i asked again and he seemed to blow me off. i had to get another waitress to grab the beer for me from the bar. she was just as confused as i was. he didn't get our checks right and split all of our orders three ways. all in all the beer andfoodis good, i like the atmosphere but they need to work on service.

my 4th and last attempt. i have been to holy grale 3 times before and had unpleasant experiences. my friend was in from out of town last night and her father suggested we grab somefoodthere. they both seemed pretty excited to try it and i didn't want to be picky so i agreed to go.
it was the same old crap from every other time. extremely rude staff- at this point i think being a miserable asshole is a prerequisite for any position there.
even though they have a vast selection of beer, they never have anything that sounds any good to me. all i want most of the time is a dark, malty stout. the one beer that sounded the slightest bit appealing was unavailable. i ended up drinking this awful sour beer upon the suggestion of the angry waiter- he said it was the next closest beer to being "stout like."
i think that was the most disgusting beer i have ever had and have no clue why anyone would suggest that to someone looking for a stout.
of course they ran out of the components to make the onefoodmenu item i ordered as well, but i have to say thefoodended being delicious anyhow.
i wish thisfoodcould be served in a different establishment.
unfortunately the only time i will ever get to eatfoodfrom the holy grale is if someone brings it home because i am never stepping foot in that place again.
