the jalapeño cheese soup is to die for! steaks are consistently good and the bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp are very good.

unimpressive experience. i went here last sunday with a friend, even after negative reviews from coworkers. the jalapeno cheddar cheese soup was good (almost like nacho cheese sauce though), however i ran into a real issue with the steak. we both ordered the smoked sirloin. my friend mentioned to the waitress that she remembered the steak being over cooked in the past, so she make it very clear we wanted medium rare. however, when the food came out, her's was medium and mine was medium well. a manager came by to check on us and quickly brought out a new steak for me. it was medium rare, but even then not overly impressive... but maybe it was due to being previously smoked. however, i will likely not come back here given the great steakhouse options available around town.

i went to this location for happy hour meal. it was very tasty. i sat at the bar and was able to make great conversation with new friends , who are also traveling for work. this location is good for a nice long dinner or a quick bite to eat.

our favorite place to go for a date night (with toddler in-tow). great food, great service. the steak is always delicious. if you want your kids food to come out ahead of the rest of the order, make sure and order well in advance of the main dishes.

for being a chain restaurant, by golly, they sure do a fine job of cookin’ up a storm of taste, value and atmosphere! while passing through amarillo recently, we discovered this fantastic place that caters to meat lovers, regardless of preferences!
great old-style down-home aromas abound here… it’ll be difficult to make selections if you let your nose wander! first off, they make their libations right, the perfect amount of alkeehall in their margaritas, and the beer – mine being blue moon, was ice cold! i tried their country quail grilled and stuffed with cheese, bacon and jalapeños and – believe me, i can’t wait to go back for more! nuff’ said, this is a place that deserves frequency of eating. go hoffbrau!

service was good. menu changed and husband liked his ribs the seasoning on the peppercorn sirloin was not good it was too gritty and combined with the oil they use to cook there meat not good. also the salad was brown not fresh and the baked potato was a little over cooked so my experience was underwhelming at best.

had a great experience at hoffbrau's tonight! started off with brau chips, a family favorite! i had the pan grilled tilapia with sautéed spinach. it was delicious!! my husband had the steak salad. my older son had the filet & shrimp. and my younger son had hand-breaded chicken strips. there was nothing left! we also shared peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream. everything was great! one of our favorite places to eat as a family! great service & great food!

the staff was friendly and the rainey salad was delicious! the rest of my party enjoyed their steaks and all the portions were decent sized.

great steaks, it's a lot like texas land and cattle, but better. the smoked sirloin is awesome and is a must try! the reason it's 4 stars is it takes a lot to get a 5 star review.

one of the best chicken-fried steaks in amarillo. steaks are solid and usually come out in the general doneness you order. 2 for $25 steak plate is a decent value. i don't really care for the all booth setup. good restaurant.

i loved the jalapeño appetizer and my burger was delicious. the steak was nicely cooked too. the service was awesome and they changed the channel to the game we wanted to watched.

great restaurant! very good good, excellent service, reasonable prices. where the locals eat. this restaurant is also clean and child friendly. save room for peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream. yum!!!! can't wait for our next trip to texas so we can stop and eat again.

find a different place- any place will be better.. driving from mn to az, and stopped in amarillo for the night. tried hoffbrau steak and experienced the worst meal we have experienced in our 47 years together. the wait person brought out our entrées well before we had finished the salad. i had the chicken fried steak which was tough and the batter on it is what normally encases cod in fish and chips. the gravy was mediocre. hard to believe, but i have had much better chicken fried steak in minnesota than in texas. my wife had the smoked sirloin medium ordered medium rare. the steak was medium to well done, was only barely warm and tasted as if it had been cooked well before we arrived and then reheated in a microwave. wait person was rude and extremely unprofessional. we will never again enter a hoffbrau steakhouse.
