everytime... i eat at this place something always goes wrong. well, for one, the attitudes suck on the staff and not very friendly. another time i ordered a steak and i had a chunk of plastic in with it and they messed up the order. tables aren't very clean, example -salt on the tables, trash on the floor, some type of dried up dressing on the booths, and dusty. they didn't even say sorry about the nasty table. i asked for a salad without onions in it and what do i get? onions with my salad. it'd be different if i were adding something to the salad but how hard is it to not to put something in? i'm making your job easier but they like to make it harder for them i guess. the remodeling is only fooling the out of towners. nothing has changed and its sad because i told myself to give it a chance and it's always a disappointment. if i could rate this place based on stars , it would be getting a half star. never will i be coming back to this joke of a restaurant.

don't order the ribeye.. i love this place. the fried okra is the best.

just don't order the steak. it is the worst i have ever had.

everything else is great.

gave it a 2nd shot. after a huge disappointment a couple of years ago, my wife and i decided to give it another shot. there will not be a 3rd. the smoked sausage appetizer was tough to chew. my chicken fried steak was charred all the way through. i'm not 100% sure that there was actually meat between the burnt breading. my wife ordered the catfish which was over cooked, her hush puppies were crunchy, and her potato wedges were mush. on a positive note, the water was good.

i do believe this will be the last time we go back. i remember when this place used to be a favorite. they need to figure out what's changed between now and 10 years ago and go back to that.

wow!! awesome staff and wonderful atmosphere!. we had my mother's seventh birthday party there this last saturday! staff were so accomodating and the service was great! can't say enough about the food...my mother is a true texan and loves her steak...that ribeye brought a smile to her eyes and oh man lit up her face upon the first bite ...she said it was delicious! our waitress jessie was great ..took extra time with my mom but of course my mom says everyone needs to do that, after all she made it to seventy..but jessie we appreciate all your care and consideration! you are the best! kendl the "excellent" manager took time out of her busy day to come greet my mother and then volunteered to take group pictures of us all...thanks for helping preserve that memory of my mothers happiness and her surprise that so many of us were there to honor her and celebrate her achievements! omg the friendliness and care was so evident!! i want to thank you all for going above and beyond on such a special day! i just want you to know...we could not have picked a better place for this get together (we were a rather large group but no problem for hoffbrau) and i thank you all for helping make her birthday celebration such a success! upper management: please take note you got some wonderful people in your amarillo location, they are doing you more than proud!!! once again, thank you all, hope to have her seventy first celebration there too!

chicken fry was awesome might need to have a contest! ditto on the ribs!! knocked it out of the park mark (!) we will be back

this was a good choice for atmosphere and ribeye steak. the service was great. i would not recommend the chicken fried steak. the meat was tough and breading was greasy. my kids liked it too

nice !!!... fried green tomatoes, baby back ribs and texan steak... great food..kids menu not the good but overall a great meal...

good burgers. my office is right behind this restaurant. i call in a takeout burger at least once to twice a week and i have never been disappointed. the bbq bacon cheese burger, one eyed jack burger, or the dr pepper chicken sandwich are all great and won't disappoint. when i walk into the bar area for pickup the staff is friendly and fast. my only complaint would be they need a designated pickup area for takeout orders, if the bar is busy it's hard to find a spot to wait.

hoffbra steaks. had dinner here on saturday evening (10-12-13) with six others: i ordered a chicken fried steak: there were no options for a veg to go with the order: it came with the only choice available that night, potatoes with gravy: the steak was over cooked and almost charred inside. the entire food display at our table was less than mediocre at best. all of us in our group were disappointed greatly with the food. service was good, just poor food. we will not go back.

amarillo jalepeno appetizer. had some really good steaks here (sirloin and t bone) entertaining customers on two occasions....what i remember the most however is the amazing fried jalepeno's appetizer. my word they were fantastic! they batter, fry and serve with horseradish based sauce and look like lace lying on the platter.

order these if you like spicy and unique foods. baked potato was excellent as well (loaded) and the steaks were cooked just right at medium. not bad on price either. atmosphere and servers were right up there with the food.

ate lunch and had the 1/2 rack ribs with grilled corn on cob. food was excellent as well as service and drinks. keep up good work!

passing thru town again so had to stop by. they are doing some remodeling but the food & service are still great!

very good restaurant good service and great food. i got the sirloin and it was cooked perfectly very good

be careful when ordering a rare steak from this steakhouse . apparently there rare is very different from everyone else. it is more of a medium rare . when we made a comment that it was over cooked they actually argued and picked up the plate and said well that's our rare. seriously !! also the potato was dry and the corn sooooo over salted couldn't even eat it! so over all horrible experience live and learn will not return
