friedchickenweekend breakfast. i love friedchickenas part of my weekend breakfast. hyde park hitching post gives me that option!
i have a four piece, two eggs, home fries, white toast... yum!!!

best friedchickenin town. nice casual family friendly dining delicious homemade desserts. this is a little hidden neighborhood gem. you will be glad you went!

i love theirchickenand desserts! just like home! i'm glad i remembered that they were open.

good home cooked food and a wide variety of choices.

on this occasion i ordered a 12 pack of friedchickenwith two sides and rolls. thechickenis always incredible and this time was no exception. mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw for sides. cole slaw is the bomb! thechickenwas hot and fresh, the rolls are traditional hitching post rolls, a comfort food. the staff is amazing. very friendly and attentive. i called ahead and the food was hot and ready when i arrived. love this restaurant.

we are most recently moved from fl to kentucky, and were looking for homemade american comfort food. their "famous" or "best" of friedchickenwas average, the parkette in lexington and yoder's in sarasota both far out do it. it was not worth the $11.00. the meatloaf was okay but i am very picky abt meatloaf. this meatloaf was too bready and gravy was packet made and it was not worth $11.00. their banana pie though was fantastic! but learned only their creme pies are made in house, the fruit or cheesecake are bought. we also found out that the turkey for the open faced sandwich is bought deli style, not home-cooked and then served. so for two experienced foodies, my husband and i felt that they just have given up on their food and the restaurant. it could've soooo much better if everything was homemade. also the men's' bathroom smelled terrible and the women's' had one stall that didn't lock and has a large gap facing the door so anyone walking in can see you. there were no paper towels to dry your hands either. we suggest a bathroom remodel. it doesn't need to be expensive just clean, utilitarian and simple.

went hp hitching post for early dinner after a midday movie on tuesday. it was my hubby's (a picky eater) first visit.  he enjoyed achickendinner, while i savored the liver & onions, which isn't easy to find on menus around town.  the service was great, as usual, and we both left too full to have a piece of one of their great pies for dessert.  hubby was already planning what he'll order on next visit!

this place has the bestchickenand mini potato pancakes yum! the service is always fast and friendly. i'd eat here every day of mt waistline could afford to. it's that good!

the food here is so yummy friedchickenis my favorite they have it any time of day. double deckers are great too. service and prices are awesome. i want to go again right now. oh and get the mini potato pancakes. yum

i love this place. it's unpretentious and the friedchickenand double decker sandwiches are awesome. i'm not much of a breakfast person so i love that i can eat friedchickenat ten am. great service goods prices yum!

breakfast, 3 eggs biscuits gravy and many potato cakes. the dish comes out very hot and very quickquick, i like my eggs once over easy, also there are homemade biscuits and gravy are excellent an you also get many potato pancakes. which i also order extra applesauce. they always get my eggs right. i would recommend this breakfast anybody was hungry. great portion size an excellent staff. makes you feel comfortable and the restaurant. ken

just good all around. this area is replete with many dining establishments......many very fancy and pricey and too few that are just good and partial to the down home, concept of good food, hp is well done, the basics.....the hitching post is easy, they appreciate their staff and customers, not upscale fancy with the upscale $, never had a bad breakfast or other meal there.....often do carry out due to my schedule, love the friedchickenand burger options.......specials for eat in are good, soups my favorite......

mini potato pancakes instead of french fries. thechickenis hot and juicy, the slaw is home made and you can substitute mini potato pancakes for mashed or frency fries. it's a local restaurant, not a chain, and the owners are very nice people.
