absolutely amazing. fresh as fresh can get, extremely well executed, and the staff was beyond friendly and prompt. i would recommend getting reservations as seats fill up very fast here, and now i know why! the food is just wonderful; so flavorful with sides that actually accentuate the main course. we madelunchreservations for our first trip to midway. the dining room was very clean and well maintained. we were seated in a private and comfortable booth. our waitress seemed to know exactly when to show to take our order or refill our drinks without being overbearing or disruptive to our conversations. i ordered the fish tacos. by far one of the best fish taco's i have ever eaten.. and i'm from socal - land of fish taco's. they were dressed perfectly with a unique - i think it was a beet pickled onion? - along with a touch of cabbage and a rockin white sauce. the fish itself was seasoned well, and even had a little hint of heat to it. great combination! mylunchpartner ordered the mary burger. i got a bite, and this was truly worth every penny. great burger! we then ordered a desert of caramel goodness. it was perfect to share between two people, and had so many different little flavor stations on the plate, i can't recall which one i liked more. they were all lovely, and went together great! even their iced tea was done well. the sweet tea was not overly crazy sweet like 99.9% of all the other restaurants we've been to. it just had that perfect hint of sweetness. this was our first time to heirloom, and we will be going back again for sure!

a gathering of friends. the four of us, friends for more than thirty years had a day together in midway, ky. we had a speciallunchat the heirloom restaurant. we each ordered a different entree so we could sample the various meals. mine, of course, is the best we all said as we ate our lunch.

(hint: it's a meatloaf sandwich!) i stopped in forlunchrecently and enjoyed the experience. the owner met us at the front door and highly recommended we try the signature mary burger (lore has it that johnny unitas used to travel from baltimore to hazard ky just to get a mary burger). not able to resist a good burger (or good lore), i ordered mine ($9.95) medium, with grilled onions ($0.75) and a side of mayo. it arrived nicely plated with a unique side of what they call heirloom fries. the "burger" arrived nowhere near medium. very tasty, but had the consistency of meatloaf. my friend commented that there was no grease! i assume there are fillers which would enable absorbency, but it was still tasty. i’d like to return to try other menu items, like the fish and chips and the crab cake sandwich.

amazing. i stopped by here forlunchone day after shopping downtown in midway, must say it was the culinary highlight of my month. beautiful presentation, great service, and the flavors are just beyond anything i had experienced before. definitely a modern cuisine hot spot and a must see in the bluegrass!

insulting. will never go back. took out of town guests there forlunchand even though the food is excellent, that will never trump bad manners,especially in the south. one person in our party asked for salt and was told fine dining establishments did not need salt on the table. we never received any salt and we will never go back. too many other places to "enjoy" a meal. amazing.

still hungry. atelunchat heriloom today and left with a lot less money and an appetite. way over priced and the portions were painfully small for what you are paying. got a cup of soup and a salad, neither of one was very filling and mylunchwas $11.00. not worth it!

i love this place. it is probably one of my favorite places to eat in the lexington area. the food is always fresh and fabulous. my favorite thing to get is their tomato bisque and their lamb burger. you talk about amazing!!! makes me want to go there forlunchtoday!:) i know they make everything in house and to order. my grandma had a lobster salad sandwich one time and the lobster was amazing, so fresh and tender. the service can be slow at times, but often times there is only one server for the entire dining room (8-10 tables). i am a server myself so i have learned to have patience and compassion for my fellow servers.
