a must do.... we visit freeport by boat every summer and this is next to our favorite marina. during our stay in freeport this is a must do stop.

right on the water, more fried seafood than should be legal anywhere... there are also non-seafood choices for those who do not stay into the joys of summer fried seafood.

dining is al fresco, nothing screams maine lobster shack quite like this.....

traditionally our first stop for lobster right off the plane. a little pricey for such a casual spot but worth it.

has progressively gotten worse. the first 2 times i went here the food was good. this past time i went the food was bad. my sandwich was very bland and tasted like it was overcooked. the caesar salad tasted like soap, (not kidding.) then, we went another time for an easter brunch. which again was disappointing. i don't believe i'll be returning. it's too bad because this place used to be good.

excellent meal. i've been here two times. once for a thanksgiving meal and once for lunch. the thankgiving buffet was excellent. the second time i went i had the fish & chips. they were excellent and i will be returning.

eclectic but fantastic. recommended by the local campground operator as the place to go for a good but not fancy meal.. the place has several ordering windows so at first it is confusing as it what you need to do. there is no table service and if you want alcohol,it is a byob place. the food was perfectly done, absolutely fresh and reasonably priced. i would go as far as to say they served the best lobster i have ever eaten. a must stop for seafood lovers unless you need a really expensive, fancy place.

lobster and crab rolls are outstanding. yum. if you are local you can call in your order ahead and go pick it up, which is good because sometimes the wait can be quite long.

took a two week tour of the ne last summer. this is the only place we ate twice. the lobsta roll and onion rings were fantastic. if you like beer with your lobsta you can bring your own. loved the whole experience.

awesome lobster, lobster roll & fried shrimp. seafood chowder was great. the staff is quite crabby, and there's no water view seating, but oh well, the food is worth it. & it is byob - which is great!

great hidden treasure. you will nit see it advertised, but somehow this place is busy all the time, bring your own wine and enjoy 21 dollar lobster that includes a dozen clams and corn. awesome deep fried seattle. a must stop.

the other, genuine freeport. this crowded, cash-only spot by the town dock is a fried seafood and lobster pound treasure. the fried fish sandwich is outstanding: three huge blocks of flaky haddock falling out of the bun. i've enjoyed the fried calamari and chowder, as well. skip the onion rings, which seem to be fried in puffy doughnut dough, and get cornbread which is monumental in size and taste. i've never felt more in maine.
