the real big breakfast. restaurants, diners, and fast food establishments should be thankful there is only one store and in a somewhat remote part of new jersey. every plate and entrée is beyond huge! each serves at 3 people. they layout the food red carpet for you. delicious and tasty. friendly and courteous staff. 4 people caneatone of their pizza size pancakes. the omelets are huge beyond belief! i had lunch here before( turkey sandwich), it came with the works; salads, pickles, condiments and a loaf of rye bread! the menu says feeds 2-3 people, an understatement! i've never seen anyone finish the meals. a doggy shopping bag will be brought home! the owner is warm and friendly and enjoys engaging the parents. make this place number 1 on your bucket list. the deli is also attached to the edison hotel. so if you live a distance away, drive up or down and get a room and treat your family and friends to a dining experience!

a lot toeatfor your money!. we ate dinner there tonight and the amount of food you get (portion size) is amazing. i've attached a pic of my dinner. i had an "appetizer" portion of the bbq beef rib (dry - sauce on the side,) and my friend had the "small" corned beef sandwhich. the quality of the meal was superb, as were the fresh pickles, kraut, and bread at their pickle bar. our waiter, eric, was attentive and informative. we couldn'teatall of what we ordered, and he was more than happy to box it all up for us. it's a little pricey, and out of the way (unless you're staying in one of the raritan center hotels,) but i highly recommend it. you definitely will not leave hungry.

harold's deli. we've been regulars at harold's for years and just get a kick out of bringing friends there that have no idea of what they're in for. we tell them not toeatand be ready to over indulge themselves. harold's has not ever let us down, ever, and it's just a treat to go there. we lived down the street from harold's for years, but since have moved 35 miles away. we have no problems jumping into our car and making the trip down to edison any chance we get. that should give you some idea of how great harold's really is. hopefully , when you go ,you get a chance to meet harold, always smiling and always a pleasure to talk to. don't pass up a oppourtunity to stop and enjoy this experience.

eat long and prosper. too many good things to name one. everything is too big, and i'm glad. bring a group, share, andeatthe rest the next day, and the next after that. if you don't like it, who cares! go get your head examined. i try to go off-peak hours as it just gets too crowded sometimes and i hate waiting, but then again, since there's no other place within a reasonable drive that serves the same type of food with the same great taste, sometimes i do wait, because it's just that good!

great deli, but be prepared to share. harold (yes, there is an actual harold) is noted for his extremely generous portions of everything. sandwiches, burgers, potato pancakes, cakes and pastries are huge. if you can, be prepared to share your sandwich with 2 or even 3 friends. otherwise, take the leftovers home. with sandwiches, there is always extra bread to wrap up and take with you.

harold's features some of the best deli meats you will find anywhere. the roast turkey is real turkey, not loaf. roast beef and corned beef are lean, and if you order the pastrami, you'll be asked if you want it regular or lean. and the lean pastrami is really lean.

harold's also offers family dinners. but, you need to have a really large family, or be prepared toeatit again.

the restaurant is exceptionally clean. the kitchen is behind a glass wall, so you can see everything going on, including your meal preparation. the dining room is typlically deli, with blue formica-topped tables and straight backed chairs. the walls are covered with photos of new york city scenes.

it seems pricey on the surface, but remember that you'll get 2 or 3 more sandwiches out of that pastrami on pumpernickel that you ordered.
