evenings have always been my fav n comfortable time of the day to go out in search of good cafes or ice cream outlets. n today was no exception. as soon as i got out of a sickeningly long (4 freaking hrs!) meeting, i rang up vaishnavi rao asking her to get out of her office right away without even a place in my mind. at the same time another friend called up for a coffee. but as the place he had in mind was on the other end of city from vaishu's place, we made a quick decision to treat ourselves with ice cream. the options that came to my mind were two n haagen dazs won the delightful battle :)
the less than 5mins drive from my office seemed to take forever due to heavy traffic but of course häagen dazs is definitely worth it.
they have huge space for parking so no worries on that part.

we had the visual treat before we could satisfy our insatiable ice cream needs!
huge pictures of delicious ice creams n bradley cooper adorned the walls. the intricate designs on the glass partitons were beautiful. their ad was being played on the tvs. the place is quite big, tables n seatings pretty cozy.
the place was empty except for a table occupied by a couple.
as vaish n ram started browsing through their album like menu n placed their orders in a jiffy, i pestered our kind waitress with loads of questions. as i wasn't satisfied with the options, left the table to look at the display freezers. the desserts looked inviting. but i was disappointed with their very limited options of ice cream flavours.
almost same flavours filled the freezers on both sides n few trays were sealed :( after looking at the options many times as though new one would pop up magically :p i lost my patience as they kept suggesting me two flavours in particular, macadamia n vanilla even though i informed them that i dislike the latter n not a big fan of the former! i went to our table asking the waitress to suprise me.
vaish had ordered belgian choc n vanilla scoops with choc syrup- b.choc was awesome n vanilla was, well vanilla. the syrup truned out to be amazing so we used it as a topping for all our ice creams.
ram had cup (forgot the name) of strawberry n summer berry scoops with fresh cream n cookies. he loved the summer berries so much that he ordered one more scoop of that.

mine was a glass which had raspberry sorbet(lovely for me n too tangy for the others), mango(bland) and again fresh cream n cookies. it was a bit irritating cos both our glassware had huge amout of cookies which we struggled to finish. but the flavours were really rich n authentic :)

the guy who was behind the counter came to our table while we were about to leave enquiring about how i liked the flavours he had chosen for me n also informed again that he couldn't offer much as the flavours they had were too limited.
we got to know that they are expecting 2 or 3 more flavours by next week n were promised that we will enjoy them more :)
when it comes to pricing, they are a bit on the higher end which may be accepted considering the quality of flavours. but i am not sure about their biiling though. service charge had been entered with the list of items and vat n service tax were loaded on the total. so am confused a little with that norm :/

generally a big fan of their ice creams and their plated desserts, however the waffles this time around were very flakey and tasted of maida. i have had the same before and always been top class. the 4 rating is because i have always loved your ice creams but this time the waffle was pathetic. plz rework on your waffles and get it back to how it was earlier.

what i loved about this haagen dazs outlet is it's cosy interiors makes you feel comfortable and relaxed the selection of ice creams is simply the best plus the way they scoop it out in front of you makes you want more best chocolate ice cream i ever ate (after having it first in orchard road, singapore) a must visit

one of the best ice creams i've had. good texture, right amount of sweetness in delightful flavors. pricing needs to be done better, or the quantity should be increased. great ambience to enjoy great ice cream.

a review for häagen dazs has always been over due...but today i decided i'm gonna do it anyway..
the ambiance is simply elite to start of with,considering its located in the posh side of chennai. if it's a dine in,you can order at ur table and pay before you leave.
the menu card is a good one with illustrations of the ice creams..thus giving you an idea of what your in for. yu have a variety of toppings n add on to choose from.
the best seller n my most favourite is the "belgian waffle dream". it's pure goodness in every spoon. it basically comprises of a scoop of praline ice cream and a scoop of dulce de leche ice cream,along with almond peaks n freshly baked waffles, topped with caramel sauce. overall it feels like ur having an orgasm in ur mouth.😜😍👍🏻
i also like the strawberry cheesecake n cream n blueberry flavors.
the service is quick. but again the ice creams are priced at an extravagant rate!!
say if an ice cream sundae is priced at 500₹, including the tax your bill would come up to700₹.
but this place is a definite must try i would say..

rating it 4.5 n not 5 because of the high price.

big fan of ice creams in general. always have loved haagen dazs. never been disappointed. supreme quality ice cream and desserts. also, love their fondue.

it's my second visit here ,though not a big fan of the creations as the icecream turns too sweet (added syrups and toppings) but ordered summertime cone and dark chocolate bom. these creations were good but better when u have company of 3-4 person otherwise have the great range of exotic icecream flavors.

häagen-dazs is a worldwide chain of high quality ice creams. so yes when your sweet tooth kicks in for something amazing, then this is the place to go.
this is one of the high end ice cream parlours situated in khader nawaz khan road with a signature menu that has a wide varieties of ice creams along with a lot of combos.

taste:
the ice creams have a rich flavor added to them and every dish is plated in a very neat and sophisticated manner.
some of the must trys are the belgian waffle dream(all time favorite), eiffel tower and paradise.
belgian waffle dream has a pair of well cooked soft waffles served with 2 scoops of ice cream of your choice along with maple syrup or caramel. the combination is just heavenly and this is my most favourite of all.

ambience & service:
the place has a decent sit out to hangout with your friends. the service is prompt and neat.

me being a fan of ice creams..... service is great.... choice of ice creams are less... shakes were ok...i kindly request you to increase the availability of varieties

by far the best place for ice creams...the catalogue was mouth watering...customisation is awesome...ambience was perfect...been there with my cousin and his little kid..the experience is on of its kind where we had a chance to take a look at the preparation before it was served and i bet you would love to take a look before you get to devour...one tiny problem is that we get to earn in rupees and spend in dollars (the irony)

you could go there once in a while, at least that's what i can afford. prices are steep but the quality of their presentation and selection of ice-creams are simply awesome. 

you can pay rs. 600/- and enjoy a boatful of delicious chocolaty ice-creams or a large glass / jar of creamy, thick shake. either way, this will easily be enough for three.

ambience is pretty hip with tables and chairs and bean bags located overlooking knk. you will not find many customers in during lunch hours but that could be due to lunch time. i am pretty sure evenings are full and during summer, this place will be the one to look out for if you are with friends or family.

we ordered their chocolate bomb which comes with six different scoops of various flavours and a jar full of coffee caramel shake. 

both were delicious with the chocolate bomb taking the cake, so to speak. like the way they present the chocolate bomb which opens after thick hot chocolate is poured atop.

knk is one of my favourite roads in nungambakkam that i love to spend time with my frnz, my college was located around this area and my gym was in this street, so two years back wen i was walking on this road, i found hd to my surprise and i have been craving for hd since i tasted them in honk kong, so few weeks later i dragged my siblings and my husband to this and made them buying me their ice cream knowing it costs a bomb... i jus loved it... i love their presentation of every ice cream sply the effel tower ... so worth every penny spent...

it is priced at rs. 2392.00 (including taxes and service charges) which we feel is slightly overpriced compared to other places in chennai and also in consideration to premium branding prices.

it serves 3-4 people. we were happy with the service until we found out over google reviews, pictures and ads that we were supposed to be served with 3 flavours of macarons with a better variety of fruits whereas we were served with only 2 macarons which was quite a let down.

häagen dazs at nungambakkam can be a good place to visit for your post dinner dessert cravings with a short drive. nice ambience for your family and friends to sit and chat which also happens to be at quite an instagrammable location.
