guanajuato mexican

taste buds had a delightful evening. wanted to try a new restaurant...spun the urbanspoon dial and ended up here. was not denied. love the bay view area and had seen this restaurant many times but never stepped into the establishment because it was always busy...now i know why. chips andsalsaprovided immediately and it was not the store bought variety salsa, but homemade...with a nice kick and and pieces of cilantro. asked the waiter what he recommended, and ordered it. try the carne asada. i have never had flank steak that tasted so good and it came as ordered, medium rare. i will come back.

the salsas had some great, complex flavors which i thought set a good precedence. if a restaurant cares so much about thesalsaand chips, then you know everything else is going to be excellent. the carne asada tacos were amazing, as were the sopes, and huaraches. the waitstaff were really friendly, even helping me concoct a margarita from scratch (my "recipe" was awful) their house margarita was very good, so i don't know what i was thinking.

food was very authentic nothing like el beso very reasonably priced and friendly nice atmosphere they even have chicken strips for those who do not like mexican food like my so the tamales were just like home cooked and i boughtsalsato go!!! highly recommend!

what an amazing little mexican restaurant in the heart of bayview. we love this place, everything is delicious and made with care. theirsalsais crazy delicious, you won't be disappointed!

i went to guanajuato mexican restaurant for the first time on my first dinner date with my boyfriend. i love the atmosphere and the fact that every time i order, the food comes out the same-hot and delicious! i have been to just about every mexican restaurant in the milwaukee area and i find myself at guanajuato the most. i carry business cards in my purse because i talk about gto so much people want to check it out! the prices are lower and theirsalsais to die for. every time i sit in guanajuato and look around me, all i see is happy, smiling faces enjoying the wonderful menu guanajuato has to offer! keep it up guys! :)

yum yum. i agree with some other reviews have said- the atmosphere could be improved, but the staff is always very nice and polite. theirsalsais amazing and fresh- you can order it and a bag of chips to go. the steak tacos with onion and cilantro is just the best. i've not ventured too far into other menu items because i always look forward to those steak tacos.

great food at a great price!. it'd be easy to see how someone could just walk by this place without giving it much thought, but this is some of the best mexican food my fiance and i have ever had!! the prices are so affordable and the food is authentic and delicious! watch out for thesalsathough - if you don't like spicy salsa, you may not like theirs. it has quite the kick, which luckily i love!

authentic and delicious! this place would have been easy to drive past without even noticing if i had not been looking for it. very glad we came! small restaurant, reminds me of a small diner with seating for about 15-20. regular customers were coming and going the whole time we were there, which was a great sign. excellent quality of food, big portions, superb flavor! thesalsais close to the best i've ever had after traveling extensively and eating an numerous mexican restaurants.

coconut shake! coconut shake!. apparently known amongst aficionados as gto's, guanajuato's deserves as much positive word-of-mouth as it can get. especially since construction at lincoln and kk has made it a little harder to get to.

funky, authentic, some of the bestsalsain town, entirely reasonable prices, hearty portions, a totally acceptable mole con pollo. however, the thing that will bring me back here instead of botana's or conejito's the next time i crave mexican is the coconut shake.

i'll say it again, the gol dang coconut shake. even the waiter got excited when i ordered it. it's not an ice-cream thing at all; this is vaguely in the realm of traditional aguas frescas, finely blended with quite a lot of coconut and a healthy dash of nutmeg. they've got a variety of this sort of thing but the coconut shake has made me a guanajuato's fan for life.

when you walk past the place you don't think much of it. it's a little spot that has some of the best home made and original mexican food in the city. the chips andsalsaare on the house. which is a surprise since its little establishment. thesalsais the best i've ever had from a resturant! amazing! i ordered the enchiladas and they were full of flavor! my friends ordered the chicken tacos and it was very juicy! really good! you have to try it! a outside secret!
