awesome mexican food. service was fast and friendly and the food was good and cheap. not a date night place. harsh lighting, but hey, food was great.

a yummy hole. agreed that it's a corner joint that you would most likely pass by, but the folks were very pleasant and the food was good. you have to get a lot further south to get better mexican food. i had the tostada and it was quite yummy.

overpriced cafeteria slop with a side of terrible service. we'd heard good things about gto and i was prepared to love it... nope! even though there were waitresses and waiters standing around behind the counter staring at everybody, we waited twenty minutes for drinks. when my strawberry margarita arrived, it was disgusting frozen syrup-water. everyone at our table tried it and agreed it was foul. our food was all a complete disappointment, too; the "quesadilla dinner" was two of the smallest tortillas i've ever seen folded in half with a bit of cheese in it, beside school cafeteria slop beans and overcooked, under-seasoned rice.. and a soggy, sad tomato slice on top of a pile of shredded lettuce thrown in, for kicks. we were completely ignored by the waiters and waitresses, none of us were offered drink refills or more water, and we had to corral someone twice to try to get a check. then when we got it, items were missing off of it, and we waited for another stretch of time for the confused check-out bloke to ask waitresses about it and sort everything out. it wasn't even that cheap. my fiance and i both got the quesadilla dinner and one drink each, and the bill came to around $30. we ended up getting dinner & drinks elsewhere afterwards because this place was so horrible, we didn't eat anything. blegh!

taste buds had a delightful evening. wanted to try a new restaurant...spun the urbanspoon dial and ended up here. was not denied. love the bay view area and had seen this restaurant many times but never stepped into the establishment because it was always busy...now i know why. chips and salsa provided immediately and it was not the store bought variety salsa, but homemade...with a nice kick and and pieces of cilantro. asked the waiter what he recommended, and ordered it. try the carne asada. i have never had flank steak that tasted so good and it came as ordered, medium rare. i will come back.

great affordable mexican food!. a very simple little restaurant, no fancy decor, more than made up for with amazing food. try the camerones ala diabla, spicy with lots of big shrimp for only $10(price is now $13). guanajuato (or gto for short), is a neighborhood favorite. if you have a margarita, you may want to upgrade the tequila tho.

in this area with mexican people there were lots of locals, so i knew the food would be authentic. i was not disappointed. kind staff too. if i lived here i’d be back.

disappointed!!. after reading great reviews; my boyfriend and i had dinner at guanajuato. we received terrible service having to ask for water refills, a different seever for drink orders (worst margarita ever!!!!!!), eventually flag a different server for our order, and finally a different waiter for a check. the food was mediocre. i don't have anything to say on that.
best part was the salsa, which was delish!! unfortunately this place had some of the worst service i've ever experienced and we won't be back.

the salsas had some great, complex flavors which i thought set a good precedence. if a restaurant cares so much about the salsa and chips, then you know everything else is going to be excellent. the carne asada tacos were amazing, as were the sopes, and huaraches. the waitstaff were really friendly, even helping me concoct a margarita from scratch (my "recipe" was awful) their house margarita was very good, so i don't know what i was thinking.

i really enjoyed guanaquato. the servers were very attentive. the atmosphere is also warm and inviting. i ordered the enchiladas and they were deliciously cheesy and i felt that i got my money's worth. i will be back next time i'm in the mood for good mexican cuisine.

salsa great, food delish -we were traveling thru and spooned this place. it's fantastic, stop and try it. you will be glad that you did.

guanajuato has some of the best mexican food we've had in a long time. clientele was mostly caucasian but the presence of cops was a good sign. a number of folks came in for take out. note that they charge extra for a second basket

food was very authentic nothing like el beso very reasonably priced and friendly nice atmosphere they even have chicken strips for those who do not like mexican food like my so the tamales were just like home cooked and i bought salsa to go!!! highly recommend!

so what happened? let's start off with the first line of communication. the phone order. i started off my order with steak quesadillas then an order of chicken enchiladas then an order of bistec ala tempenquenia and guac... he said ok 15 min no total no name was asked. lady went to get the food. 34 dollars later she came back with my steak and quesadillas and guac.. they didn't put the enchiladas on the bill or in my order. also the steak was this burnt steak - um like meat. idk what happened to you guys the food was way different then it was just when i ordered 2 weeks ago. i had a beautiful steak done to medium with a slap of guac on it ... sadness

good food. very good authentic mexican food at a cheap price. service was excellent! did not care for the atmosphere however. this restaurant could be so much more!

go to mexican restuarant. awesome service, nice atmosphere. outstanding traditional mexican food, nice low prices. they eagerly accept group ons. i simply love this place. that mr. webos is a nightmare.
