so for part 1 of my birthday celebrations, i went to theglassbrasserie at the hilton, sydney to get myself some buffet breakfast! i had been there once before with my friends and i liked it so much i decided to go back!

for a more upper-class breakfast than usual, we decided to try the breakfast buffet atglassbrasserie. located in the hilton hotel on george street,glassbrasserie consistently receives amazing reviews and is ranked as one of the best buffets in sydney. we were therefore incredibly excited to try it and see how it stacked up.

really enjoyed dinner atglassbrasserie. oyesters six ways was very interesting. each oyester came with a special dressing and i certainly enjoyed the two i tried. crab omellet was very tasty. five stars for the tuesday special wagyu tenderloin and brisket. four and half for the 300g angus fillet. three stars for the lamb cutlet. side dishes were average. the restaurant is very nicely decorate and definitely worth a try.

average.... another double date, another restaurant to try!
the 4 of us dined atglasstwo fridays ago.
to start with, we ordered the zucchini flowers, duck pate and pork belly. the starters were okay, a bit dissapointing. the zucchini flowers were $8 each and 1 of them wasn't even stuffed properly with goats cheese. the pork belly was nice, but the smallest portion imagineable..

mains: we had the eye fillets, lamb and duck. the lamb and eye fillet was nicely cooked. i had the eye fillet and really really enjoyed it. however the duck was a bit odd and the beetroot made it looked like the whole dish was bleeding and it wasn't very appealing to the eye.

service- could have been better for 1 hat restaurant. i felt sorry for the couple who sat down next to us. the waiter was taking their wine glasses away and accidentally pouring water all over the girl.

great breakfast buffet. great breakfast buffet with wide range selection of food! i was surprised by the carrot shot. it is really nice!
if you go toglassbreakfast buffet, you have to try their signature dish! it's so unique and delicious!

i have been toglassa few times now, and unfortunately i feel like each time i go, the quality seems to dip down a little more. first time i went it was amazing - 5 stars! last time i went was for the valentine's day set menu, and it didn't live up to it's usual standard unfortunately although it was still good - maybe 4 stars. the flavour of my lamb was delicious, as was the short rib, however the first course was basically short rib on a piece of bread which i thought was a little odd. the stuffed zucchini flowers were quite underwhelming. dessert was good, but nothing spectacular. i guess because this was the valentine's day menu, it was a bit lower than their usual quality. hopefully next time i go back it will be up to it's usual standard. i'll give 4.5 stars because it's usually fantastic, just let down a little bit by the valentine's day menu.

not as good as expected. the tea smoked quail is a bit over smoked. had a bitter taste.
roasted dory is also a bit overcooked.
overall had a nice dinner and good service. but forglassbrasserie, we had expected a bit more

we have been here a few times over many years andglassis always reliable. for some inexplicable reason, i have never tried the crab omelette, which has been recommended by friends time and again. so we ordered the dish this time to correct the oversight. it is absolutely sensational which prompted me to write this review.  the flavours are exquisite, in large part, i think, due to the broth. it is well worth a visit, just to try this. well done.

i wasn’t sure what yo expect when a client invited me here for lunch. to be honest i often think restaurants inside hotels are subpar butglasswas anything but subpar. every dish was thoughtfully presented, well seasoned and delicious. the service was excellent too. definitely a great place to take a client or for a special occasion.

glassbrasserie is an up-market restaurant in the hilton sydney that does fine dining for lunch and dinner as well as casual lunch corporate menu. i have been here a couple of times with work colleagues and in this post will share the dishes i ordered from the corporate lunch menu. the first time i came here, i ordered the meatballs in tomato sauce with mashed potato, basil and parmesan cheese. this was delicious, the meatballs were tender and juicy, and the sauce was the perfect amount of sour and went nicely with the creamy mashed potato, topped off well by the cheese.

available for the month of april, diners have  the gleeful option of a 3 course chocolate degustation fromglassbrasserie for $40 pp. rhubarb, strawberry, zephyr white chocolate cream and basil doused in vivid red strawberry sauce. it’s light and fantastically tart, great for waking up the taste buds.

glass brasserie is definitely one of the best food institutions in sydney. i tried their famous dishes, the kingfish sashimi and omelette. oh dear! they taste heavenly and surprise you subtlety. i like how the daishi and golden mushrooms were mixed with the omelette as they added texture and flavour to the ordinary omelette. learn it, grounds of alexandria!!

pork cheek! oh my pork cheek!! the pork cheek just taste soooo goood as it melts in your mouth. probably the one dish you should try.

p.s.glassbrasserie: use black pig pork cheek and i'm sure this will be a delicacy 😁😁

coming back to sydney after a 2 weeks vacation was great. we were invited toglassbrasserie where leon korobacz (@hungrysydneysiders) and i had a delicious tapas (and cocktail) time at chef luke mangan's restaurant. 

we started off with the prettiest cocktails in town. it was everything a girl could dream of when in sydney cbd, sipping cocktails overlooking the sandstone facade of qvb.

we had a variety of tapas to choose from. we couldn't say no to crisp zucchini flower, canapé kingfish sashimi and waygu burger slider. the juicy mini burger was one of my favourite tapas, it was compact and filled with delicious goodness (of a normal size burger).

glass brasserie's signature dish, kingfish sashimi was served in a traditional chinese spoon. one mouthful is enough to savour the beautiful flavours of the fish seasoned with ginger, eschallot and persian feta.

and you can't say no to peking duck pancakes. served with cucumber, shallot, coriander & hoisin. i had to say it was finger licking good!

now, we've been saving room for luke mangan's out-of-this-world chocolate dome dessert. we all love watching the waiter pour the hot cranberry sauce into the dome, to reveal sweet honeycomb and vanilla gelato. mix the elements all up with a spoon, the taste is simply divine!

glass brasserie is located inside hilton sydney hotel. it's hard to miss the modern sandstone andglassbuilding on george street. i simply love the gorgeous interior space with natural lighting and high ceilings. a great place to bring a date, i reckon, hehe.

with our faith in top flight restaurants somewhat dented from resent visits to other establishments we went toglassbrasserie by luke mangin for the third time. we were not let down.glasssoars above and beyond any of its class in sydney. pre- dinner drinks in the bar were delivered with elegant precision with the bar staff being entertainment in themselves.

seated at a large table in the heart of the dining room was a fun place with wait staff beavering aroumd us. our waiter was knowledable and presented the meat garadon in convincing fashion. entrees of delicious chicken liver parfait with broche and pork cheek started the meal off magnificently. our selected mains from the steak selection were accomlanied by truffle enfused mash and the best fresh salad in sydney. a shared liqourish trifle was not the same as the earlier version but once we understood the work that goes into the course we understood the waiters enthusiasm for the dish. wines as with most high end establishments are at the top end both in price and quality. the semelier was most helpful in our selection of a mid-ranged pinot noir from tasmania.

with a well ddserved reputationglassbrasseries did not fail to deliver.

located in the sydney hilton hotel,glasshas imposing presence with its vast windows overlooking the queen victoria building, it’s wall of wine and massive open kitchen. a creation of chef luke mangan, the menu is modern australian with an asian twist that works well. lunch atglassis truly a special event. the service provide by knowledgeable staff, is excellent. the decor is opulent yet relaxing.
