i have gone to ginza on main street a couple times, after their remodel, and the fish there is quite good. the menu at ginza is quite vast and the sushi selection includes many sushi rookie favorable items. actually, the first time i ate there with my family, i don't think i had sushi. i should mention that several tables have heating elements so you can order the "table side grill" thing. not my thing. anyway, not bad for a neighborhoodjapaneserestaurant. their pricing is a little on the higher side compared to some of their neighboring japanese/sushi places. sushi is quite good, stick to the normal negiri, be brave and go for the chef's selection. also, take note, one thing i really enjoy at ginza is the protein salad. this combination of pickled and fresh vegetable, seaweed, broiled salmon skin and tobiko...delicious

bestjapaneseeastside. we have eaten here now three times, and each time is better than the last. our experience here is no fluke. arguably the best overalljapanesecuisine in the eastside area. restaurant is exceptionally clean, and the aromas are enticing. the wait staff are all prompt and courteous. if you arrive with a group and no reservation, you may be in for a wait, as the seating is modest. they do have a number of private rooms, but we've not tried to reserve one.
the menu is broad and varied and you'll find all the typicaljapanesefare. our several first hand experiences with many different items from the sushi/sashimi menu underscore the absolute freshness of their offerings. the presentation is excellent and portion sizes are ample if not large. the deep fried oysters are in a word, superb---lightly coated w/ panko and fried in fresh hot oil; not greasy; the briny oyster flavor is incredibly fresh.
i could go on and on with positive comments about other menu items, but the one item that deserves special note is their pumpkin fried rice. this is their specialty. it is a deliciously seasoned fried rice w/ bacon bits, served in a beautifully cooked kabocha squash (japanese pumpkin). one of these will serve 4 persons as a side, easily. the kabocha is tender and has absorbed the flavors of the fried rice while they cook together...absolutely yummy! be sure to place your order for this as soon as you can, as it takes awhile to prepare.

my favorite in eastside. i just stumbled across ginza, but i think it's my favoritejapanesenear where i work. it's quiet and a little out of the way, but usually pretty busy -- which is good for a sushi place. their tempura is great too.

way better than i love sushi. this is my favoritejapaneserestaurant on the east side. the steak teriyaki is the best around and the sushi is fresh, plentiful and delicious. try the chirashi bowl and you won't be disappointed. parking is limited and it's not a large restaurant. reservations recommended.
