my husband and i went to ginza for date night sushi. unfortunately, i am unable to fully comment on the food. after waiting for nearly 1 hour and 15 minutes we had to leave after the people who were sitting next to us, who had only been there for 20 minutes, were served :( we had simply placed our order, requested a few drinks, and patiently waited as we were finally out with each other and without the kids. they did stop by and give some apologies for the delay and gave us some complimentary edamame - after the 1 hour mark - but then proceeded to serve the people next to us. they may have been friends or family of the owners, but i still think it was in very poor taste on their behalf. we left and went to cantinetta, explained the situation, and were immediately seated and served. it is unfortunate as we had a "dinner and a show" plan and had a late dinner and missed our show, which happens in life, but there was little effort on ginza's behalf to make amends. i feel that this approach to customer care will probably change over time as one can not remain on main street with the other high quality restaurants and continue to offer very substandard service. with gems like monsoon east, bis on main, gilbert's and cantinetta on the same strip i can simply say that i will never attempt to go to ginza's again - having never eaten fully eaten there to begin with.
