embarrassing experience!!! all about money!!. this restaurant is all about the money!!! we had brought guests to have dinner tonight. it was storming outside and our guest had used his umbrella to usher guests into the restaurant. gino had come out and we mentioned to the hostess, someone should be out front helping get people in due to the rain. she just sneered at the suggestion. my husband had to ask for towels to dry our friend's clothes. i had called ahead and made reservations. we had not finished our salads and the main entrees were brought to the table. so at the point we seemed to be rushed. the waiter had mentioned it was a slow night in the restaurant. after finishing our entrees, we order coffee and desserts. the check was dropped off at the same time. next thing we know the hostess comes to our table and asked us if we could finish up within 20 minutes, they had this table reserved then!!! there were other tables empty in the restaurant. we were so embarrassed that we had invited guests that we were still visiting at this time. as we left the restaurant my husband asked gino if there was a time limit on the tables. he answered "no" the hostess seems to be stumbling to explain her actions. gino at no time ever cared to ask who we were or offer an apology. we have been coming into this restaurant for years but i assure you we will never return again, nor will our friends!!

love it. great music on weekends. lamb chops are out of this world. romantic.

i’ve been trying to get my schedule to work with the hours for awhile and was finally able to enjoy a meal at gino’s. my order was simple enough- spaghetti and meatballs with tiramisu for dessert. too many times i find places that make the red sauce too sweet. gino’s is perfect. dessert was delicious. the atmosphere at gino’s is nice with white table cloths and the staff very attentive. i am looking forward to returning.

love this place! make sure you go on an empty stomach though because you'll want to eat everything you order and it's filling. the arancini is delicious and so is their veal picatta. you step into the restaurant and immediately feel like you're somewhere else. the atmosphere is just as great as the food!

classic sicilian restaurant. nice for special occasions and date nights. the lawrence bread is one of the best things on the entire planet to put into your mouth, if not galaxy. the veal bolognese is my favorite so i rarely stray from it. everything here is good. including the superb service. jason is great. i have heard butch is too. but, everyone is! the atmosphere reminds me of my late sicilian grand mother's house. feels like home to me. love ❤️.

very nice evening at gino's .... difficult to believe the (few) bad reviews.... eight of us received excellent service even though it was prom night .... told a veal marsala dish was very sicilian so most of us ordered it wanting to experience the culture -- it was very very good and the portions were so much each one of us left with a carry out bag. there is very little parking space - a few spaces and front and the main parking, though small, is in the back. the dining rooms are crowded and loud enough so that speaking to someone across the table from you was difficult to hear - or it was for me.... but we still talked -- a group of 8 ladies will find a way. it was very good and will return.

always great. best italian in town and fantastic service. all the classic italian entrees are great. i like their fish selections, cooked in simple olive oil & herbs, always comes out perfect and the side of bow tie pasta with red sauce tops it all off. you've got to get the bread as well, the kind with parmesan and herbs is fabulous.

a baton rouge classic. my wife and i have been here many times over the years. the food has stayed the same. always great, always satisfying. we love the red gravy!!
bottom line- go!!!

hours. i've gone out there 3 times to buy gift cards and they have been closed 2 of the 3 times

extremely overpriced. avg. food. certainly not special!. been there once. had a 3 course meal. the dessert was mediocre but expensive. the food was pasta and shrimp and some fancy topping, but certainly did not worth 20 dollars. the staff did not care about my party of 6 because they knew they would get the tip. do not waste your time there.

pretty good. my hubby and i went to gino's as part of our list of restaurants to try in baton rouge. we got there early, knowing reservations and the crowd would be there closer to 630 and later. our server was very nice and informative. they definitely cater to the regulars and there seem to be many of them...the older, br elite crowd. our meal was good but not enough to feel that i absolutely have to go back to gino's for italian cuisine. i had eggplant and my husband had lamb...both of which were well cooked. overall a good experience.

pass. just to start the hostess said "i can seat you, but you have to be out by 8:15 as i have a reservation". we should of walked out at that point. this restaurant was highly recommended by a few people i know and maybe i had high expectations, but everything about this place was underwhelming. the spaghetti was undercooked, the sauce was bland and the food was just a pool value for the money. on the other hand, the service was very good. i don't blame the waiter for the food, but the food wasn't good. i wouldn't come back to this restaurant.

dissapointed. first off, would like to say that food was excellent. manager was horrible. had a party of 8 and wanted to split ticket. manager refused to allow server to do so. after several rude conversations with manager, the server told us that he would spilt ticket regardless of the manager.

very disappointing. i have had many wonderful meals at gino's through the years. we had dinner there last night and were so disappointed. we did have a large table of 12 so were seated in the back room near kitchen. service was terrible... took forever to order and receive our drinks, appetizers, etc. the waiter's first words to us were," there will be no substitutions tonight"... then proceeds to tell us of several items they are out of and it was only 7:15... finally our entrees came out except one at our table had to wait at least 10 minutes for his entree, very awkward bc. we all felt uncomfortable eating before him yet he insisted we begin so our food would not get cold. as i said earlier, we've enjoyed many fine meals here but have heard of other diner's experiences lately and hoping this does not become a pattern.
