it's about a hidden gem in kolkata.
❤️ resturant: ginkgo (kolkata)
we tried:
✴️cheese, spinach and water chestnut dimsum with chilli oil - it's simply a showstopper. won my heart with it's unique and cheesy taste. a must have for cheese lovers. also we got to know that they make this black colour with squid ink.❤️
✴️manipuri style spicy noodle soup pork- it is having garlic tossed noodles with spicy tangy broth and that too served with roasted pork and prawn chips. here comes the quality of pork, in one word it is just awesome but a foodie like me would be happier if they get little more pork with the noodles may be 😋. the quantity of noodles was enough for two. broth was yummy.
✴️ginkgo stylechilipork with scallions- as always they nailed it. quantity was ok as a starter for two. quality was top notch👌
✴️bok choy wrapped fish- freshness of bok choy with fish ,created a unique taste and it served with little bit of in house sweet and sour sauce. fish was tender and fresh.
i must say all the dishes were affordable and worth to try again and again.

the friendly and cozy environment made a evening to be remembered. i am looking forward to visit this place once again.

heard lot of good reviews about this restaurant. ordered ginko styledchilipork and kolkata style chicken wings from it. thechilipork was average taste but while eating we found the pieces were not properly cleaned before cooking as the pork’s hairs were still the pieces!!!! and this is totally disgusting!!! it spoiled our dinner and we threw the rest of the dishes out of disgust. i will never recommend any person this place ever. the picture of the piece is attached herewith as evidence.

why there's no hype about this place?

they be serving tasty chicken momos for a price as cheap as 83/-...

located in a lane opposite south city mall this small joint can seat max to max 15 people at a time and pan-asian, oriental dishes are their speciality.

what we ordered:

> all time favourite wok tossed shanghai chicken dumpling.

> ginkgo stylechilichicken with scallion

> darjeeling chicken steam momo

> hawker's noodle egg wrapped phad thai (mix)

every dish had a unique taste which were a pure enjoyment for our taste buds. the service was prompt and the staff was very cooperative.
they also served us chocolate pan as complementary that tasted equally heavenly.

it is a go-to place if you are tight on your budget and trust me you won't be disappointed.

thumbs up to ginkgo kolkata team.

ginkgo restaurant, jodhpur gardens, kolkata.
.
new pocket friendly pan asian restaurant in kolkata 😍😍😍😍😍😍
this is where asia meets america under one roof ❤❤❤❤❤
.
gingko is a decidious chinese plant which lives for thousands of years and in japanese decorative art, it symbolises beauty and longevity. it was found that four of these plants survived the infamous hiroshima blast and are still growing there today.
.
ginkgo is a newly opened small restaurant in jodhpur gardens, near south city mall. they serve varieties of chinese, amerian and pan asian delicacies at a very pocket friendly price. the place is quite small and nicely decorated. the sitting capacity is not more than 12-15 people, but the warmth and comforting ambiance will definitely cheer up your mood. the stuff is very courteous and very politely listen to the customers and help them in every way.

🔸location: the place is situated in the middle of lord's more and south city mall, in a lane right opposite to south city.

we ordered,

📣cheese dim sum (4 pcs) (₹73/-) :
it's there signature dish. small sized black colored dim sums, filled with cream cheese, spinach and water chestnut. the taste is nothing like any other momos or dim sums we ever tasted. you need to get accustomed with the taste and once you understand it, there is no turning back. hands down, one of the finest dishes we've ever tasted. try it with there house specialchilioil, it takes the dish to another level of goodness. (4.5/5)

📣gfc fried fish bao (2 pcs) (₹97/-) :
bao is one thing, we've always loved in any shape and in any form. these baos are super soft. inside the bao, there is a marinated fried fish (chicken variety is also available) layered with a cucumber piece, lettuce and wasabi mayo. it tasted pretty good but somehow we felt that it could have been more juicy and definitely lacked a spice kick, which it definitely needed. (3.5/5)

📣buffalo chicken wings (5 pcs) (₹137/-) :
a delicacy from the states, which is generally a little spicy and there is always a hint of butter in it, but here the wings were not that spicy to be called buffalo wings. but as a dish, it was definitely super tasty. small sized wings tossed in a sweet, sour and a little spicy sauce which was just simply perfect. i wish we ate another plate of this amazing wings. (4/5)

📣egg wrapped mixed pad thai noodles (₹157/-):
we were too excited to try this, but honestly it was a little disappointing. rice noodles, cooked with garlic, fish sauce and chilies, topped with roasted peanuts, chicken, tofu, shrimps and pork. the fishy smell somehow ruined the taste for us. the amount of meat and nuts were very little but it was good in quantity, considering the price. it tasted good with thechilipork we ordered. (2.5/5)

📣thai basil chicken fried rice (₹113/-) :
this was our staple for the pork dish. steamed rice tossed with thai herbs (basil being the main ingredient) and chicken and topped with fresh basil. at first it tastes like betel leaf (because of the basil i guess) and we didn't even think that we could finish it. but after a few spoons, we got accustomed with the taste and we ended up liking it. though we wouldn't recommend it. (3/5)

📣chili basil pork (₹177/-) :
another day, when a pork dish steals the show alone. hands down one of the finest pork dishes we've ever tasted. big crispy pieces of pork meat, tossed in a spicy sauce consisting of basil, chilipaste and garlic. sauted with bell peppers and onion. the meat was tender, filled with flavors, balanced spices and perfectly cooked. it can go insanely well with any staple dish you want to order. the quantity was pretty good too. highly recommended. (4.7/5)
.
pocket pinch for two: ₹400-500

few days back i had visited this newly opened restuarant named ginkgo. ginkgo is located opposite to south city mall. its located on the lane of honda showroom. the place has some amazing graffiti on the walls of the resturant. the seating arrangement is cozy and comfortable.

•cheese spinach & water chestnut dim sum: this is a ginko signature dish or i you can say signature momo. the momos are filled with yummy cream cheese, spinach & water chestnut and are served with ginko's specialchilioil.

•fish dumpling with red hotchilioil: the dumplings were streamed to perfection and it tasted amazing.

•darjeeling style chicken momo: these momos are served in a basket and they come in 5 pieces per plate. these momos were juicy and melted in my mouth.

•gfc fried chicken: this bao is served 2pieces per plate. the chicken that was in the bun was fried to perfection and it was crispy. the bao bun was so soft and the chicken in the bun was layered with pickled cucumber, fresh lettuce, and wasabi kimchi garlic mayo.

• noodle soup bowl: the noodle soup bowl was super filling and the presentation of this dish was simply amazing.

• ginko style chilli pork with scallion: the ginko style chilli pork with scallion tasted amazing. the pork was well done the spice in this dish was well balanced.

• garlic pepper prawn: the garlic pepper prawn was tasty and the prawns were well cooked and they were tender.

• try me please: try me please is amazing dessert. it's a sticky warm banana cake that is topped with caramel toffee sauce.

they are maintaining all the safety measures. the cutlery that you will find is wrapped in a paper bag & once you open the bag you will find a small bag of sanitizer that you can use to sanitize your hands before you start eating. the presentation of the dishes was really nice. the portion they served was good enough for two adults to have. plus the price range is quite pocket friendly.
